Chapter 465: All’s Fair in War
Chapter 465: All’s Fair in War
As the dual blades of Wind Valley were broken, Xu Xiangbei’s finger formed the shape of a needle, striking fiercely at Wind Valley’s wrist.
A cold stream of Inner Strength, as fleeting as a flash of lightning, penetrated into Wind Valley’s meridians.
The pair of Iron Balls that had been circling to attack Wind Valley was merely a feint, for facing such a formidable assassin as Wind Valley, they couldn’t possibly hit him.
Xu Xiangbei intentionally provoked Wind Valley, luring him to attack, while secretly placing a pair of Iron Balls against his chest to block the dual blades. Xu Xiangbei’s real killer move remained his Reversing Needles.
The moment those blades shattered, Wind Valley realized something was wrong, but it was too late. Everything had been calculated by Xu Xiangbei, and he couldn’t escape.
He felt stinging pricks on his hands and, retreating in shock over ten steps away from Xu Xiangbei, sensed an extremely cold current spreading from his hands to his arms.
Knowing he had been hit, he furiously roared, "Using trickery, shameless!"
Xu Xiangbei sneered, "Someone like you, controlling others while hiding in the shadows, has the nerve to call me out? I won fair and square, fought honorably, and utterly defeated you."
Wind Valley struggled to use his Inner Strength, resisting the cold flowing into his upper arms. However, the Reversing Needles were a unique Inner Power Heart Method, capable of healing and clearing meridians, yet also a formidable martial art—saving lives as well as taking them. Few can withstand its attack.
A chilling cold invaded Wind Valley’s Heart Vein, covering his face and brows with ice flakes. He slowly knelt, his body as rigid as if frozen, and helplessly gazed at Xu Xiangbei.
His eyes were filled with rage, surprise, and defiance, whereas Xu Xiangbei looked at him with a hint of pity, "What about your Hypnosis now? Do you still have the strength to use it? Your meridians are crumbling, I need not kill you. But you will become a person unable to lift five pounds of eggs."
"Despicable and shameless, using trickery!"
"How pathetic you are. Haven’t you heard the saying, all is fair in war? You’re the despicable one here, accusing others when I merely paid you back in kind."
Wind Valley, struggling for his life, could no longer control Xiao Lin and Ouyang Jiahui. They awoke from their hypnotic state, seeing themselves holding large knives stained with blood, which frightened them, prompting them to toss the knives aside.
Ouyang Jiahui turned pale with fright, "What’s happening? Did we kill someone?"
Xu Xiangbei removed his shredded shirt and reassured them, "No, you just wounded me; there’s no need to worry."
Only then did Xiao Lin and Ouyang Jiahui notice a bloody wound the size of a baby’s mouth on Xu Xiangbei’s arm.
They quickly apologized to Xu Xiangbei, "Sorry, did we do this?"
Xu Xiangbei smiled, "It’s not your fault; he hypnotized you to attack me with the knives."
Frightened, Xiao Lin and Ouyang Jiahui hid behind Xu Xiangbei, "Will he hypnotize us again?"
"This guy is under my control now, with no strength left to hypnotize you again."
Only then did Ouyang Jiahui and Xiao Lin relax.
Despite having been hypnotized and unknowingly injuring Xu Xiangbei, Xiao Lin still looked very apologetic, "Shouldn’t you go to the hospital to get your wound bandaged?"
"It’s nothing. I’m fine with this little wound. You two should go home and rest; you were chasing and hacking at me non-stop, you’ll feel tired soon enough."
Xiao Lin and Ouyang Jiahui left Xu Xiangbei’s office.
Not only Xiao Lin and Ouyang Jiahui, but Ah Rong and Wind Chime also woke up. Ah Rong picked up a Curved Saber to charge at Wind Valley, only to realize upon reaching him that Wind Valley’s face was covered with white frost, resembling an old man with white eyebrows.
"He won’t use Hypnosis anymore; I’ve destroyed his meridians."
Wind Chime stood before her brother, silently weeping, and suddenly knelt before Xu Xiangbei, "Brother Xu, please spare my brother. We follow the orders of the Sword Palace Master, merely obeying commands. I ask for your mercy."
Upon striking Wind Valley’s wrist with the Reversing Needles and sensing his powerful Inner Strength, Xu Xiangbei guessed Wind Valley may be from the Sword Palace.
"Where can I find this Sword Palace Master of yours?"
"He has no fixed abode, you won’t find him. Moreover, I can’t disclose too many secrets to you; that’s the rule of the Sword Palace."
Xu Xiangbei squinted his eyes slightly and said helplessly, "Take your brother and leave. Soon, the coldness in him will dissipate. But his meridians are ruined; he won’t be able to use Hypnosis again."
Wind Chime wiped her tears, saying, "Thank you, Brother Xu, for sparing his life."
"Don’t thank me; it’s because of you that I spared him."
Supporting her brother, Wind Chime slowly left Xu Xiangbei’s office, turning back to look at him longingly, "Take care, be cautious of the Sword Palace. They will send more people."
"I know, you take care too."
Ah Rong, unwilling to let go, said, "Just let him go? Why not interrogate him under severe penalty to find the Sword Palace Master’s whereabouts so we can fight back?"
Xu Xiangbei shook his head with a smile, "Let it go, it’s not easy for them either. It’s getting late; we should also rest. You really beat me up; my Armani suit is in shreds because of you."
Realizing the Armani suit cut into strips on the floor, Ah Rong apologized, "Sorry, but I was hypnotized. If you had listened to me and attacked first, this could have been avoided."
"Who would have thought this guy is so twisted, hypnotizing you to attack me. Good thing I’m clever."
Ah Rong touched a part of her chest that had been shocked painfully, frowning suspiciously, "This hurts so much, did you do something to me while I was hypnotized?"
Xu Xiangbei turned away, suppressing a laugh, "I did nothing, didn’t even punch you. I wouldn’t want to hurt you, otherwise, I wouldn’t have let you shred my clothes like that."
Ah Rong soon discovered scorch marks on her white jade-like skin, clearly from the electric shock. She confronted him, "Xu Xiangbei, did you shock me?"
Xu Xiangbei had already left the office while she checked her wounds.
Ah Rong held up her Half Moon Saber, "Xu Xiangbei, you shocked me and claimed you’d rather not hurt me. Come back here, I seek compensation, for work injury, don’t run, come back."
Xu Xiangbei repeatedly pressed the elevator door button, closing it, and as the elevator descended slowly without her catching up, he breathed a sigh of relief.
He laughed to himself, "Ah Rong must be furious now; better wait till she’s calmed down before facing her again."
