Chapter 284 High School Freshman and College Freshman
Chapter 284 High School Freshman and College Freshman
Having already confirmed the time with Zhuang Tunan, Zhuang Tunan finished breakfast and waited in the waiting hall.
It wasn't until noon that Zhuang Tunan finally saw the four people.
Zhuang Xiaoting and Xiang Pengfei spotted Zhuang Tunan from afar and jumped up and down, shouting, "Brother Tunan!"
The two groups met up, and Xiang Pengfei hugged Zhuang Tunan, saying, "Brother Tunan, I've missed you so much!"
Zhuang Tunan released Xiang Pengfei and patted Zhuang Xiaoting's arm affectionately, "How are things at home?"
Zhuang Xiaoting spoke frankly, "It's so nice at home while you're not here!"
Zhuang Tunan: "..."
Huang Ling nudged Zhuang Xiaoting and said, "Not much has changed at home, except your Aunt Song keeps talking about you."
In fact, Zhuang Chaoying was also very unaccustomed to it and worried about her son. For the two months after Zhuang Tunan left home, she tossed and turned every night before midnight, unable to sleep. However, Huang Ling felt that it was better not to tell Zhuang Tunan about this, so as not to make him worry.
It was noon when Zhuang Tunan led a few people to the guesthouse, and then they went out for a simple meal of stir-fried dishes and rice.
In the afternoon, the four of them followed Zhuang Tunan to the Tongji University campus. Zhuang Xiaoting and Xiang Pengfei kept looking around, wanting to see what this legendary campus was like.
The results didn't reveal anything significant; it seemed like a rather lax middle school.
"Brother, I want to see your school's library." Zhuang Xiaoting longed for the vast library that Zhuang Tunan had mentioned in his letter, and dreamed of what so many books looked like.
Zhuang Tunan hesitated, "There are too many of us, I'm afraid the school won't let us in."
Huang Ling didn't want to spoil Zhuang Xiaoting's fun, so she said, "You take Xiaoting with you, we'll just walk around outside."
"Alright, we should be out in about an hour or two. Let's meet up here." Zhuang Tunan was worried that the group might get lost, so they agreed on a return point, which was the easiest place to find them.
"Xiaoting, bring an umbrella!"
When Lin Dongzhe went out, he took two umbrellas. Huang Ling wouldn't let him carry them himself, so she held one for him. Lin Dongzhe knew it would start raining in half an hour and last for most of the day.
Zhuang Tunan took the umbrella and led Zhuang Xiaoting to the library, but Xiang Pengfei clutched his stomach and said, "Auntie, I need to go to the toilet."
"I don't know where there's a restroom around here. I'll take you to find one. Dongzhe, come with us." Huang Ling looked at Xiang Pengfei, whose face was flushed, and became a little anxious as well.
Lin Dongzhe quickly waved his hand, "I'm not going. I'll look around in the nearby buildings and I'll definitely be back when it's time."
Huang Ling did not force Lin Dongzhe to stay, but she did remind him, "You must come back later, and don't leave the school gate."
"Don't worry, I won't wander off."
Lin Dongzhe has always been reliable and has never caused any trouble. Huang Ling nodded, "Then be careful. Pengfei, let's go."
Instead of wandering around, they stayed put and waited.
This is in front of a teaching building. It's a weekend, and there aren't many students coming and going.
Leaning against a pillar in the entrance hall, Lin Dongzhe sat idly in the porch.
Li Jia and Feng Lu hurried to the classroom. Feng Lu spotted Lin Dongzhe first and, finding him handsome, unconsciously slowed down.
Noticing that her companion was walking slower and slower, Li Jia couldn't help but feel curious. Following Feng Lu's gaze, she saw Lin Dongzhe standing there. For some reason, she just felt that he was particularly pleasing to the eye, as if he were the only person left in the whole world.
When walking, the worst thing is to be distracted. Sometimes, if you're not careful, you'll trip or miss a step. Li Jia tripped on the steps in front of the porch and was about to fall to the ground when suddenly the world spun around her. When she could see clearly again, she saw the handsome boy who had been leaning against the porch pillar.
Feng Lu was filled with regret. Why hadn't she thought of falling down earlier?
Seeing the two of them embracing like they were in a movie, with the man on top and the woman on the bottom in a standard embracing position, Feng Lu's eyes turned red.
Lin Dongzhe helped Li Jia stand up straight. "Are you alright?"
Li Jia blushed and shook her head. "I'm fine, thank you." Actually, she was not fine; her ankle was a little numb and painful, but she pretended to be okay.
Lin Dongzhe took a step back, nodded to Li Jia, and leaned against the doorpost again.
"Let's hurry up. Teacher Li asked us to confirm the course plan with Teacher Wang and Teacher Sun separately. We don't have much time left," Feng Lu urged Li Jia.
Li Jia grunted in agreement, took a step, and only when she put pressure on her right foot did she feel an excruciating pain in her right ankle, and cold sweat immediately poured down her face.
"You've sprained your ankle. If you're not in a hurry, you should go to the infirmary first," Lin Dongzhe advised.
Feng Lu said urgently, "But there really isn't much time left."
Li Jia tried again, but she really couldn't walk. It was in so much pain that she didn't know if it was from anxiety or pain, but tears streamed down her face. "What should we do? It will delay the progress."
It's not a big deal, it just leaves a slightly bad impression on the teacher, but Li Jia is a very ambitious girl, and this is absolutely unacceptable.
Lin Dongzhe felt a little sorry for you. "I'll carry you to your teacher and then take you to the infirmary."
"Well... okay, thank you!" Li Jia's tears stopped quickly.
Clinging to Lin Dongzhe's back, Li Jia chatted with him and gave him directions. Soon the two got to know each other, and Li Jia learned that Lin Dongzhe had come to find Zhuang Tunan's relatives from his hometown.
After waiting for twenty minutes, Li Jia finished explaining things to Teacher Sun, and Lin Dongzhe then took Li Jia to the infirmary.
It had started raining by then, but fortunately, there weren't many rainy sections of the road, and Li Jia on my back hadn't gotten wet much before we arrived at the infirmary.
The doctor at the clinic was a young doctor, but her father was an old traditional Chinese medicine doctor who had nothing to do after retirement and often came to the clinic to help his daughter.
Although he wasn't a professional bone-setting TCM practitioner, he hadn't wasted his years of experience. He could handle minor ankle sprains, and with a few quick snaps, Li Jia's pain subsided.
"Don't exert yourself for the next few days, and it's best to rest in bed for a couple of days," the traditional Chinese medicine doctor advised.
Li Jia bowed and said, "Thank you, I understand."
"Let's go, I'll walk you back to your dorm." Lin Dongzhe saw him off to the very end, ready to go the last leg of the journey. "Put on my coat, it's raining outside."
Li Jia hesitated for a moment, but still took the coat. "Let's go."
As Lin Dongzhe carried Li Jia back to the dormitory, he noticed that Li Jia was holding her coat tightly, trying her best to keep the rain from getting on him.
The dormitory supervisor knew Li Jia. When she saw Li Jia being carried back, she quickly came out of the duty room to check on the situation.
Lin Dongzhe originally didn't want to enter the girls' dormitory, but the dormitory supervisor not only didn't kick them out, but also made way for the two of them, saying, "Be careful when you go upstairs."
Along the way, he was met with curious glances. When a boy entered the girls' dormitory, he attracted a lot of attention.
After placing Li Jia on her bed, Lin Dongzhe prepared to say goodbye and leave.
Li Jia stopped him, "The rain outside shows no sign of stopping. You can take this umbrella and use it for now."
Lin Dongzhe didn't mince words, "Fine! I'll have Zhuang Tunan return it to you."
