Chapter 116 Moonlight Soothing
Chapter 116 Moonlight Soothing
Zhang Liangjun explained, "Similar to your thoughts, Andy can't accept this yet! I want her to accept it gradually, as well as the matter of Wei Guoqiang! Of course, the first step is for her to accept me first. If she doesn't have someone she can rely on, it might be even harder for her to accept it!"
"You know about Wei Guoqiang's affairs? You even know I investigated him?" Tan Zongming laughed. "I knew I hadn't misjudged you; you're a trustworthy person! But how did you know I investigated Wei Guoqiang?"
Zhang Liangjun laughed, "Have you ever heard the saying, 'There are no secrets on the internet'? For a senior programmer who wants to investigate something, anything you do could be discovered!"
Tan Zongming shook his head. "It seems my company's network defenses aren't very strong. Do you have any security software that can defend against yours? I'm willing to pay for it!"
"No need, I'll give you a copy! It's not worth much!" Zhang Liangjun was in charge of developing the software, and he knew about the backdoor. "But you don't need to worry too much. People with our level of capability generally don't act recklessly; they only intervene in special circumstances! After all, this isn't 'peaceful'!"
As they were discussing the software, Andy returned from the restroom. "Liangjun, let's go! Lao Tan, I'm heading back now. I won't be going to the company for the next few days. Could you handle things over there for me?"
Zhang Liangjun drove Andy away from Tan Zongming's residence.
"Take me back to Joyful Ode first! I want to go back and rest!" Andy was still very nervous and worried about her brother's safety! She regretted not returning to China to find him sooner!
"How can I let you go back alone! Stay at my place today! Or I can come to your place, that's fine too! You can choose whichever you prefer!"
Andy was stumped by this choice. "Then let's go to your house!" Andy didn't want to get upset with the three people from 2002 because of Zhang Liangjun's matter.
Zhang Liangjun readily agreed to this choice, and the two soon arrived at Qingjinxuan. Zhang Liangjun had already called the nanny, Aunt Zhao, to prepare the meal. However, Andy didn't have much of an appetite and only ate a few bites before putting down her chopsticks.
Zhang Liangjun didn't insist. He took Andy's hand and led her into the music room. At that moment, music was more powerful than words.
Zhang Liangjun had Andy sit down on the long piano bench next to him, and gazing at Andy's worried face, he said, "Andy, I'll dedicate 'Moonlight Border' to you."
Andy forced a smile, nodded, and said nothing.
The crisp, melodious notes, like strings of crystal-clear water droplets, slid from Zhang Liangjun's nimble fingertips, slowly converging into a gently flowing river of music. He played with complete concentration.
The rhythm of this piece is exceptionally soothing, like ripples spreading outwards in circles and layers as a gentle breeze caresses the surface of a lake. The beautiful and moving melody is like a flower blooming in spring, delicate and fragrant, captivating the listener and leaving them utterly mesmerized.
It's as if an invisible force can penetrate the city's glitz and clamor, freeing the soul from worldly troubles. Like a gentle hand, it softly parts the fog and dust before the eyes, guiding the soul onto a tranquil and beautiful journey.
Beyond that secluded grove of trees, the bright moonlight poured down like mercury, draping the entire earth in a silvery veil. Under this tranquil moonlight, a winding stream flowed quietly, its crystal-clear waters reflecting the twinkling stars in the sky and the lush trees on its banks.
At this moment, the whole world seems to be filled with the word "clear." The pure air, without a trace of impurity, is invigorating; the tiny watermarks left by fish swimming in the water are clearly visible; even the rustling sound of leaves rubbing against each other sounds exceptionally crisp and pleasant. Everything is so natural and harmonious, making one unable to help but be immersed in this peaceful and serene atmosphere, forgetting all worries and anxieties.
To be honest, Zhang Liangjun's piano skills weren't very high. He was originally an upper-middle level amateur, and even after being taught by a music professor, he could only barely be considered a professional level. But Zhang Liangjun played with great care, and Andy could feel it! She rested her head on Zhang Liangjun's shoulder, her shoulders rising and falling with the movements of his shoulders as he played.
After finishing his piece, Zhang Liangjun didn't get up. Instead, he put his arm around Andy's shoulder, and they nestled together. Their gaze drifted out the window; the crape myrtle trees in the yard looked even more enchanting under the dim lamplight. Andy didn't ask Zhang Liangjun why he stopped playing. Instead, she closed her eyes and began to savor this moment of tranquility, a peace of mind.
Perhaps the music really worked, or perhaps Andy was stimulated and mentally exhausted. Gradually, Zhang Liangjun heard Andy's breathing slow down and her body relax. Looking down, he saw that Andy had fallen asleep.
She slowly got up and gently picked up Andy, wanting to carry him to bed while he was still asleep so he could get a good night's rest. But Andy was still awakened by the act of being picked up.
"Put me down, I can walk by myself." Although he said he wanted to get down, Andy did not struggle.
Zhang Liangjun, of course, didn't put her down. He smiled indulgently at Andy, picked her up, and continued walking towards the bedroom, gently placing her on the soft bed. Then he lay down next to Andy, fully clothed.
Andy was startled awake and wasn't very sleepy anymore. She turned her head slightly and saw Zhang Liangjun. "Liangjun, I didn't expect you to play the piano so well!"
"In terms of music, I'm just average. I don't have any extraordinary talent!" Zhang Liangjun was telling the truth. Although he only learned casually in his previous life, it still took him decades of practice. If it were a talented contestant, they could have been completely amazing by learning on their own.
Andy asked curiously, "So in which area do you think you have the strongest talent?"
Zhang Liangjun turned to the side, looking at Andy, "Of course, he has a stronger talent for mathematics!"
Andy's eyes widened in surprise. "Mathematics? You have a strong talent for mathematics?"
"To be precise, it's about being familiar with and sensitive to it!"
Andy couldn't stay calm and sat up abruptly! Looking at Zhang Liangjun, she asked anxiously, "Could you explain in detail?"
Zhang Liangjun explained, "It means I'm very sensitive to numbers! For example, I can remember numbers I've seen at a glance, and I have super strong calculation abilities. Although I can't compare to a calculator, I'm still much stronger than the average person. I also have strong logical reasoning abilities, and I can find patterns between numbers more easily. In short, everything related to numbers becomes simple!"
Andy became even more anxious, "Where are you from? I remember Old Tan said that you and Old Yan are both from Daishan?"
Zhang Liangjun understood Andy's thoughts and was somewhat amused and exasperated. "Andy, don't worry! I'm not your brother!"
