Chapter 982: This Is Me

The storm of Energy focused on Kyle's Soul for the longest. The Domain Realm was all about the Soul, and it was the last Realm that focused on one specific Aspect of Power. Kyle's body had been refined by the Primal Realm. His Center had been refined by the Compression Realm. His mind had been refined by the Wisdom Fire Realm, and the Domain Realm would refine his Soul. After that, all of his Aspects would be refined, and they would be ready to combine in the Fusion Realm, after which his existence would fundamentally change, making him an Immortal.As Kyle felt the Energy moving through his existence, he felt a new space appear. This new space didn't seem to exist within his body but in some sort of separate reality.

Kyle focused on this new space, and his perception changed as a result.

He looked at the new space, and for the first time, he actually saw his own Soul. Or, more precisely, his Spirit.

A Soul and a Spirit were different things. During Kyle's entire journey, the concept of a will had been ever-present. One's will was the reason why others couldn't control Kyle's attacks, even if the others knew the same Laws as him. If Kyle launched a random fireball by using the Law of Minor Fire, nobody else could control it, even if they knew the same Law.

That was because of Kyle's will, and it was also the reason why it was basically impossible to read someone's thoughts or look into their Soul Space. Someone who knew the Major Law of Mind technically had the ability to read someone's mind as long as they could see the other party's brain. However, the contents of the other party's brain were hidden by one's will.

The Spirit was one's will.

One's Spirit resided in an inaccessible place, even for the owner of the Spirit. Kyle had never been able to manipulate or interact with his Spirit or will.

There was only one way to kill a powerful Seeker, and that was to interrupt the function of their mind. This could be done by destroying their brain, destroying their Center so that their brain would lose its Energy Source, or destroying the pathways between the Center and the mind. In all of these cases, the mind would stop working, and the individual would cease to exist.

That was true until the Fusion Realm.

The Domain Realm was about one's Soul, but one's Soul was only an aspect of one's Spirit. In a way, one could also say that the Domain Realm was about one's Spirit.

As Kyle looked at the new space, he felt a unique feeling. He felt like he had looked at a mirror for the first time in his life.

There was only one thought traveling through his mind.

'That's me.'

This new space shone in bright colors, which changed whenever Kyle felt certain emotions. Far above Kyle was a silver orb, his Spirit. Usually, a Spirit was white, but since Kyle had an Infused Soul Law, his Spirit had assumed its color, silver.

Kyle tried to reach out to the orb, but no matter what he did, the orb remained out of reach. He could only sense it, not interact with it.

As the storm of Energy kept flowing into him, Kyle's vision of his Spirit became even clearer, or more precisely, vision of the things around his Spirit.

The first thing he noticed was also the reason why he couldn't get close to his orb.

There was a colorless barrier, or force field, between him and his Spirit. This forcefield was the greatest defense of a Seeker's Spirit. It stopped all outside forces. Nothing, not even Kyle himself, could get through it. In fact, this barrier was so powerful that not even Demigods could get past it. The only beings that might manage to get past it were the two warring Gods.

Next, Kyle noticed chains. There were two sets of chains around his Spirit, one white and one black. The black chains wrapped around the white chains, which wrapped around his Spirit.

Then, there was one last thing, or three last things.

There were three additional chains, but they were not wrapped around Kyle's Spirit. Instead, they stretched from Kyle's Spirit into the unknowable distance.

One chain was black, and it connected the black chain around Kyle's Spirit with something in the distance.

Another chain was white, and it connected the white chain around Kyle's Spirit with something in the distance.

Lastly, there was a grey chain, and it directly connected Kyle's Spirit with something in the distance.

The image in front of Kyle seemed more oppressive than he had thought. His Spirit was far away from him, behind a wall, wrapped in chains, which were kept in place by other chains.

'I've heard that seeing one's Spirit for the first time can be a bit intimidating, and I believe I have to agree. Knowing this is me and seeing all of these restrictions doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth.'

'At least, I can finally see the things that the Spirit Lords in the Array of Stars have always talked about.'

'The three anchors, the twin chains, and the cage.'

'The three anchors keep my Spirit away from me, making it impossible for me to control it.'

'The twin chains block my Spirit's Energy and my Energy. The black chain blocks all the Energy my Spirit can release, while the white chain blocks all the Energy from the outside.'

'Lastly, the cage creates a separate space.'

'To advance inside the Domain Realm, I have to break the restrictions. First, I have to break the three anchors. When my Spirit is no longer this far away, I can also interact with it just a little bit.'

'Then, I have to break the chains. To become an Advanced Spirit Lord and attain the ability to become an Ascendant, it's enough if I only break the black chain. The Energy of my Spirit will be free, and I can benefit from it. I still won't be able to properly command it due to the white chain, but I should still be able to feel it much more clearly.'

Kyle took a deep breath. 'And that's where things become dangerous. If I break the white chain, I will become a Fulfilled Spirit Lord, and I will gain the ability to interact with my Spirit and command it. However, that means there's also a way for other forces to interact with it. It will still only be me that can interact with it, but if an outside force can fool the cage into believing that they are me, I will die or get mind controlled.'

'Finally, I have to destroy the cage to become a Unique Spirit Lord, but that will also be the moment when my Spirit is at its most vulnerable. From what I've heard, Spirit Attacks are a valid way to kill someone in the higher Realms.'

'As for Legendary Spirit Lords...'

'It's strange. Becoming a Legendary Spirit Lord is the same for everybody, but everyone does it in a different way. I need to find a way to pull my Spirit into the real world, and I need something unique or something that has enough power.'

'Some people suddenly advance in the middle of a battle. Some people advance when they comprehend a powerful Law. Some people advance when they consume something rare and valuable. In a way, you could say that you need an opportunity. You need something special.'

'In short, I have no idea.'

Kyle looked at his Spirit for a while longer before his perception returned to the real world.

He had officially become a New Spirit Lord, and the first thing he noticed was his Energy Sense.

It was so massive!

He could see so much!
