Love Guide for Childhood Sweethearts

Chapter 195: Mansion

Chapter 195: Mansion

"I want to buy one, but it's so expensive. It's in the tens of thousands! It might be cheaper in Hong Kong, but it's still expensive." Zina couldn't help but gasp. "Our flip phone is fine." She sat down on the bed. "It's just a phone! Isn't it just for making calls? Why is it so expensive?"

"Mobile phones used to be expensive! Like bricks, they cost tens of thousands." Lin Jingzhe looked at her with bright eyes and reminded her, "Let's not talk about the signal for now. Can we access the internet anytime, anywhere?"

"Uh...right!" Zina blinked her round eyes and looked at her and said, "Then don't waste that money."

"Smartphones are updated very quickly!" Lin Jingzhe smiled at her with his light brown eyes, "I guess there will be new products next year."

"Right! Don't worry." Zina smiled and said, "Go take a shower! Let's go to sleep. We'll be busy tomorrow."

"Okay!" Lin Jingzhe picked up his clothes and went into the bathroom.

I took a nice hot shower and came out steaming.

"This place is so small, everything is small." Zina said as she sat cross-legged on the bed and looked at her. The thick curtains had been drawn, blocking out the colorful night outside.

"This place is so expensive, it's not small!" Lin Jingzhe pursed his lips when he heard this, "You haven't been to the slums here yet. There's only room for a bed in a pigeon cage."

"Ah..." Zina said, looking at her with her dark eyes wide open, "There are slums here too!"

"Of course there aren't any! They're so densely packed, it looks scary." Lin Jingzhe shuddered without exaggeration and chuckled, "A house of over a hundred square meters is considered a mansion."

"Ah!" Zina scratched her ears with her little finger, suspecting she had misheard. "How could that be? In my understanding, this mansion is at least a villa. A little over a hundred square meters can only be called an apartment building."

"They don't have square meters here. The unit is thousand feet, a thousand-foot mansion." Lin Jingzhe looked at her with deep eyes and said.

"This unit is really intimidating." Zina looked at her in surprise and said.

"Yeah!" Lin Jingzhe shook his half-dry hair.

"Why don't you blow-dry it? It will dry faster." Zina looked at her hair and said.

"The hair dryer hurts my hair." Lin Jingzhe said casually, ruffling his short, fine hair and saying, "My hair is so short that it dries in a short while."

"Your short hair is easy to take care of, but you didn't sleep well, so you let it go the next day." Zina said with a smile in her dark eyes.

"It's okay, just spray some water on it and comb it." Lin Jingzhe said as he blew the bangs in front of him.

"There's no fixed shape for us in this line of work. It's the same even in the water." Zina chuckled and shook her head.

"Yeah! How can you take all the benefits?" Lin Jingzhe took out a notebook from his bag. "My hair is still wet, so I'll check the local news first."

Zina also picked up her notebook and looked up what a pigeon cage was. When she saw the picture, she was shocked. "This pigeon cage can also be used to live."

"Why can't I live here? I have no money, so I just live here." Lin Jingzhe said casually after hearing this.

"I thought this was a developed society with no slums." Zina pursed her lips and said, "Our slogan is to get rid of poverty and achieve prosperity. We want to eliminate poverty."

"Always remember that this is a capitalist society. Don't do what socialism does and imagine that capitalism can do the same." Lin Jingzhe said without raising his head while looking at the screen.

"Come and read the news..." Lin Jingzhe said, turning his notebook towards her. "It's in traditional Chinese, but I can still read it." He tapped the screen with his index finger. "In mid-August, as soon as the confirmed news of the Olympic champions' visit to Hong Kong was announced, local residents went on a ticket-buying spree. On the 21st, the day of public sale, nearly 30,000 tickets for the meeting between Olympic gold medalists and residents and the sports demonstrations—diving, table tennis, badminton, and gymnastics—sold out in just over two hours."

"Hehe..." Zina curled her lips when she heard that.

Lin Jingzhe turned his notebook over and looked at the U.S. stock market financial news again, smacking his lips. The speed of refuting rumors was getting faster and faster, and the crisis was about to explode.

"The press conference tomorrow morning has nothing to do with us!" Zina said, blinking her black eyes and looking at her.

"They are interviewing leaders. We have an absolute advantage in tradition and sports events with a good mass base. These have all been arranged in advance. It's good enough that they can assign us a question." Lin Jingzhe closed the laptop and put it on the bedside table.

"That's right!" Zina curled her lips and chuckled when she heard it. "There will be a performance this afternoon. I don't have any talent, so it doesn't matter to me. I can just be a spectator." She put away the notebook and lay down.

The two of them slept until dawn, opened the curtains, and the sun had not yet risen.

"This sky is so blue!" Zina said, looking at the clear blue sky outside the window, "It's not like the gray sky in the imperial capital."

"There's no industry here, so of course the sky is blue." Lin Jingzhe sat on the bed and looked out the window. "If we didn't have industry, we'd starve to death. Between survival and environmental protection, not going hungry is more important."

"Are we going to follow the old Western path of first polluting and then cleaning up?" Zina said with a bad feeling.

"We can't help it! Europe and the United States have moved all their energy-intensive enterprises here." Lin Jingzhe stood up and walked to the window. "It's also very fast for enterprises to transform into environmentally friendly ones."

"Ha... They say this every year, but I've never seen anything done. The clear river in front of my house is now like a stinking ditch, with a terrible smell." Zina said with disgust.

"As long as it is implemented in place, the governance will be quick." Lin Jingzhe said with deep eyes.

"That will take a long time." Zina sighed.

Lin Jingzhe moved his lips and finally said, "I'll wait." He smiled and said, "I'll wash up and start training." He walked towards the bathroom.

"This hotel should have a gym, right?" Zina said with her dark eyes rolling.

"If we all go, it will be packed." Lin Jingzhe said as he stood in front of the sink.

"We are unfamiliar with the place, so it's better to train inside the house." Zina backed down directly.

After a simple wash, the two of them did some simple training in the room and worked up a light sweat.

The two of them took another quick shower, put on their clean red and yellow suits, left the room and went to the restaurant.

Sitting at the dining table, Lin Jingzhe and her friends enjoyed authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum.

"After today's press conference, there will be an awards ceremony." Zhu Youlin looked at Lin Jingzhe with her dark eyes and said, "You need to go on stage for a photo."

"Okay!" Lin Jingzhe responded readily.

"It's very simple. Stand behind an oversized check, take a photo, let the reporters take pictures, and publish the news." Zhu Youlin looked at her with a smile on her face and said, "Just keep smiling."
