Chapter 514: E
Chapter 514: E
Dawn spent the night contemplating how he would deal with old man Clement. However, he needed to do two things before that. One was to break through to the next level of cultivation, the Spirit Gathering realm. He had been consuming food brimming with spiritual energy. It was evident since he ran a restaurant specializing in that food, but not exactly. The arrays he had carved on the vessels to cook food in the restaurant were shallow and not comparable to the arrays he had carved on his own vessels at home.
The reason behind this was simple: if a mortal consumed too much spiritual energy, they would fall severely ill. Dawn did not intend to do that. As long as they consumed a small amount of spiritual food regularly, their lives would prolong, and the chances of hidden illnesses such as cancer and genetic disorders in future generations would be minimized.
Two motives drove Dawn to start this business. One was to earn money, and the second was to accumulate good karma. Merits always rewarded by the heavens, making breakthroughs and tribulations easier.
Dawn shook off unnecessary thoughts and sat down on the ground to cultivate. While he focused on elevating his level, he was unaware that someone was peeking at the secrets he had acquired from Deckard Hymn.
The individuals were Three and Nine, both men. At the moment, they were skimming through the documents with great detail. Nine said, "Three, I did not expect to come upon something like this in this city. What do you say, shall we claim the merit?"
Three replied calmly, "If you do that, he will know someone is watching him. We will fail our task, and that would mean a nameless death at the hands of seven. I would rather shoot myself in the skull than meet that woman."
Nine trembled and said, "Do not scare me like that, man. I was joking. What should we do about this?"
Three rolled his eyes and replied, "Did you not hear the call just now? He intends to contact Sable. Just tell that old man that if he is approached on his own, it is fine. You do it; that old man would die if I visit him again. Make sure you warn him about his babbling issue."
Nine chuckled and replied, "Clement Sable should thank his ancestors because if Seven were here, she would not have warned him that night. She would have collected his head directly. I will warn him, do not worry."
Three nodded, and Nine left the room. Three looked at the screen and mumbled, "I wonder what you intend to do."
Dawn did not care about anyone or anything in the world at this moment; he was just circulating his spiritual energy through his body following the Nine Turns of Heaven Sutra. These days, spiritual food had been the source of his spiritual energy, and he had accumulated quite a lot of it in his body.
To gather the spiritual energy, one needed to open up the meridians. Dawn thought, "There are six pairs of primary meridians, and two hidden meridians. Opening two pairs would mean I would attain the first level of the Spirit Gathering realm, and opening four pairs would be the medium, and so on.
Clearing all the meridians, including the hidden ones, would make me step into the invincible Spirit Gathering realm. However, the bigger question is which pair to clear first."
He began to think. All the meridians were connected to major organs in pairs. Usually, people would open meridians in a predefined manner. However, Dawn had the chance to open them based on his preference because of the cultivation sutra he followed.
As he was thinking, a wild thought appeared in his mind. Last time when he was moving through the pristine villa complex, he was unable to find the cameras until he moved closer to them. Another thought that occurred to him was how he wanted to see who around him was a cultivator.
Yes, if he could use his spiritual sight, half of his troubles would be solved. So, the first pair of meridians he decided to open was linked to his eyes. Dawn focused, and the spiritual energy accumulated in his cells began to gather and chip against the blocked meridians.
The blockage was caused by impurities in the atmosphere and also food. These things could never be completely dealt with. Dawn was patient when cultivating. He used his spiritual energy as a chisel to chip away at the blockage slowly. He could not exert too much force because the meridians were not tempered yet. While Dawn had used them as a guideline to move his spiritual energy in the body tempering phase, it was done from the outside.
Dawn was covered in sweat because he could not finish this in one go. The impact on the meridians made his body throb in pain. It was as if he was being poked by needles on a cellular level.
While Dawn was cultivating, Nine appeared outside Sable Mansion. He easily hopped over the wall and made his way to the main entrance of the residence. Nine knocked on the door, and after a few minutes, the door was answered by a middle-aged lady. She was surprised, and Nine smiled, "Do not worry; just tell Old General that someone from the secret division is here. He will understand; I will wait in the garden."
That said, Nine turned around and roamed in the garden. The lady was panicked and rushed into the study quickly. She pushed open the door and said, "Dad, a weird man appeared at the door and said that he is from the secret division."
Clement was reading a book when he heard this. He dropped the book and approached the woman, "What did you say? Where is that man?"
The lady replied, "In the garden."
Clement quickly picked up his feet and rushed to the garden. The others may not know what the person outside was capable of, but he did. He appeared outside the mansion and found Nine standing before a plant in the garden. He moved over panting and asked, "Sir, how can I be of service?"
Nine turned around and said unamused, "Catching your breath would be a nice thing at the moment."
Clement did not dare retort and regulated his breathing. Nine said, "It is possible that someone would like to meet you. As long as you are willing to be used by him, you are free to maintain connection. However, it would be nice if you did not hold back any intentions. As you said, it will be your service."
Clement was surprised and then said, "I understand, sir. I will do as commanded."
Nine nodded and replied, "Good night then. Oh yeah, Seven will be coming to town sometime later. Make sure you are true to your word. I hope you still remember the jobs of the numbers."
Clement nodded and replied, "I do. I will be sure."
Nine nodded and vanished from his spot. It was like he never appeared in the first place. Clement placed a hand above his chest and mumbled, "I did not expect that even the destroyer will be posted in the city. Something big is about to go down. However, why is that kid involved in all this? He even has the shadows protecting and watching over him."
A calm voice sounded behind him, "That is none of your business. Also, remember what you speak or what you do not speak about."
Clement stood up straight in attention. However, after waiting for a few minutes, when the voice did not sound again, he turned around and went back to his house.
Dawn did not know if he would be able to handle the pain of clarifying the meridians with spiritual energy. This operation was not only taxing on the physique but also on the mind of a person. Dawn had squeezed out many impurities from his body, but now he was expanding his meridians while cleaning them.
Imagine someone shoving a clamp into your wound and expanding it. The pain was a thousand times worse as it traveled through the nerves and entered the depth of the body.
The young man was sincere and cruel to himself; he did not care about the time and kept doing what he was doing. He stopped only in the morning when his door was knocked. He checked and found Grace had come to check on him. He said, "Wait, I will come after cleaning up."
Grace thought he had been sleeping in today and waited with a smile. Dawn washed himself, and mumbled, "I should hire a chef for the kitchen; that way, I will be able to stay away a bit more. However, what if the person notices the abnormality of the arrays I have carved on the vessels."
As warm water cleansed his body, he began to think about the situation and how to solve it.
