Chapter 1044 - 1043: Wedding (Part 1)

Bo Xichen hung up the phone and looked down at Gu Anxi. She hadn’t woken up yet, lying on his shoulder, breathing softly.

He gently smiled and reached out to touch her little face, softly calling her name.

Gu Anxi turned over, hugging a small pillow, "I still want to sleep for a while."

He chuckled, turned and opened a corner of the tent, looking outside.

Then he completely lowered it, wrapped Gu Anxi in a small blanket, and carried her out. She immediately woke up completely, opening her eyes to look at him.

"Let’s go watch the sunrise. After that, I’ll take you to Grandma’s place." He spoke hoarsely, then lowered his head to kiss her lips.

Gu Anxi hugged his neck, turning her head to look over.

There was actually a bit of a sea of clouds, and a ray of golden light at the horizon—it was the sunrise.

She quietly exclaimed, whispering, "There’s actually a sunrise."

In Beicheng, it only happens two or three days in a year, and they just happened to catch it.

Bo Xichen murmured in agreement, chose a rock to sit on, holding her as they watched that magnificent scene at the horizon together.

The clouds moved leisurely, with the golden light readying to emerge.

Although fleeting, it was dazzling enough.

Gu Anxi watched intently. Despite playing every day, she rarely had the chance to leisurely appreciate the scenery like now. After a long time, Bo Xichen softly spoke, "Little Mrs. Bo, can we return to get married now?"

Gu Anxi responded softly, obediently hugging his neck, as he carried her straight to the car. She couldn’t help but ask, "What about this?"

"Someone will clean it up." He smiled slightly, placing her in the car and covering her with a small blanket, then got in the car and started the engine.

Time was tight, so he drove a bit briskly. Upon arriving at Grandma’s place, the house was somewhat chaotic because throughout the night no one had noticed Anxi had run off. As they both returned together, Grandma was the first to grab her ear and scold, "You’re getting married today and you two have run off to play."

Gu Anxi grinned, not daring to make a sound, just secretly glancing at Grandma.

Grandma was dressed festively today, as were King Jingyao’s couple and her own parents, all looking spirited. Only she, with messy hair, ran back from outside, still draped in a little blanket, looking quite unruly.

Grandma pinched her ear hard, leaving it reddish, and Bo Xichen felt a little distressed, "I was the one who took her out. If you want to blame someone, blame me."

Grandma let go of Anxi, turned to Bo Xichen and said, "I thought you were a steady child, but you’re quite the rascal too. Fine, I’ll just have to teach her a lesson. Have some breakfast before going back, driving two hours back and forth overnight is truly tiring, but you’re young, stamina is good."

Bo Xichen, despite being composed and courteous, blushed slightly, saying nothing as he went to have breakfast together.

Gu Anxi ate while sneaking glances at Grandma, but unfortunately none of the other elders dared to speak for her, and even the older brother who was best at placating Grandma was clearly preoccupied and frequently distracted.

Gu Anxi sighed inwardly: only I can endure.

After finishing breakfast, Bo Xichen drove back to Si Garden first. As soon as he left, Grandma grabbed Anxi’s ear again: "Girls should be more composed, can’t wait a day?"

Gu Anxi wailed, "We just went out to see the sunrise."

"Flirting is flirting, why watch the sunrise? Who hasn’t been young?" Grandma snorted, then personally took her to the room to change clothes and do styling, the stylists were waiting early.

Gu Anxi entered to find a dragon and phoenix wedding dress, crafted by the most renowned masters in Beicheng.

Lin Hua spoke gently from the side, "Your Aunt Bo Jin prepared it, planning for it for half a year. She said it’s her daughter’s dowry dress."

Gu Anxi held it, tears in her eyes.

She had thought it would be a wedding gown, never expected it to be a traditional Chinese wedding, and Grandma noticed her expression with a chuckle, "Alright, alright, let’s hurry with the timing."

Wang Keru personally helped her dress in the fitting room, and after changing, she paused, holding Wang Keru’s hand, "Mom, what’s wrong?"

Wang Keru wiped her eyes, "Nothing, just remembering how your dad brought you back, you were so small and rosy, and now you’re getting married."

"Aren’t you happy I’m getting married?" Gu Anxi hugged her, childishly asking.

Wang Keru laughed, "Happy, of course, happy."

She patted her daughter’s hand, "You’re marrying Xichen, Mom feels at ease. Also, this outfit is so beautiful."

Gu Anxi looked at herself: ’Is it beautiful?’

Wang Keru nodded gently, "Yes." Tears couldn’t be stopped again.

Gu Anxi hugged her, resting her little face on her shoulder, "Mom, we’ll all be in Beicheng in the future, I can even have a few babies for you, each one fair and chubby."

Wang Keru choked up, "Mom knows, but... probably every mother feels this way when marrying off a daughter."

Gu Anxi continued to lean on her shoulder, reached to wipe Wang Keru’s tears, saying nothing, just clinging to her.

Later, Wang Keru composed herself, smiling, "Actually, it’s all the same, we’ll still be together. Your Bo dad and Bo mom adore you, Xichen dotes on you, getting married is no different from staying at your maiden home."

After saying this, she tidied her daughter’s outfit: "Go outside for styling, Xichen will come to pick you up soon."

Then they both went outside, and once out Grandma came over, pulling her hands, "So proper, thought you were too young to pull off this wedding dress, but now it seems just right."

She patted Gu Anxi’s hand, "Bo Family is a traditional family, centuries old, and this is what they favor."

Gu Anxi smiled, "I quite like it too."

The stylist complimented, "It’s made by masters at Zhih, only they could make such a design, taking months for just one piece, and Miss Gu wears it perfectly, emphasizing her gentle temperament."

Grandma laughed so broadly, "Just praising her, she’s actually just a restless girl."
