The Absolute Godspeed of Infinite Worlds

Chapter 603 - 603

Chapter 603 - 603

"Mom, you're spoiling him too much! He's not a child anymore and can definitely take responsibility for his own safety. From this perspective, telling him these things will make him more cautious. This is protecting him, that's right!"XX defended herself nonchalantly, her face full of straightforward smiles.

"You really have a lot of twisted logic!"

Mrs. Pendragon had nothing to say and could only sigh, placing the fruit platter on the table.

"Heave-ho!"

Before she could push the peeled fruits toward Eiji, XX, who was sitting on the sofa, reached out first, grabbing a piece of rabbit-shaped apple with her bare hand and stuffing it into her mouth, chewing loudly.

"Can't you be more ladylike? Eiji is right here!"

Mrs. Pendragon was instantly furious.

"I'm not looking for him to be my husband!"

XX spread her hands and crossed her legs without any restraint.

"Isn't it fine just like this? Being this straightforward is proof of a good relationship!"

Eiji smiled throughout, comforting Mrs. Pendragon.

Mrs. Pendragon had nothing to say and could only sigh, letting her be.

"I'm going to catch up on sleep now!"

After eating a few pieces of fruit and feeling somewhat full, XX casually yawned.

"What about breakfast?"

"We'll talk about it when I wake up!"

"Call your sister down!"

"Okay!"

XX waved her hand and headed to the second floor.

"Such an unfeminine child, I really don't know how she'll find a husband in the future."

Mrs. Pendragon sighed with worry, glancing at Eiji.

Eiji smiled faintly without saying anything, pretending not to hear.

When he first learned that the eldest daughter of the Pendragon family was XX, his feelings were quite strange.

Goodness, if this woman were to awaken, would there even be any competition left in Earth's UO selection tournament?

If it really were XX Mao, Eiji felt he could give up competing for UO and focus entirely on pursuing her.

If he could get his hands on a copy of the Cosmic Holy Sword, wouldn't that be a huge gain?

But upon careful thought, he felt it was unlikely.

If this woman really came from the Servant Universe, could the Counter Force's awakening mechanism really restrict her?

After asking Scáthach, she also looked confused and said she didn't know any XX.

Since she showed no signs of awakening anyway, Eiji didn't pay her any mind.

Right now, his target was Mrs. Pendragon - everything else took a backseat!

"Good morning."

Soon after, Irisviel came downstairs rubbing her eyes.

"Please guide me through today as well, Teacher Eiji!"

The entire 20th floor had been reserved by the Pendragon family, with a kendo dojo right next door.

Around eight o'clock, Eiji and Irisviel went to the kendo dojo and trained there all morning, only returning when Mrs. Pendragon called them for lunch.

By nearly twelve o'clock, most of the family had woken up.

Mrs. Pendragon, Irisviel, Mordred, Lily, and Eiji all gathered in the dining room, where a very sumptuous lunch was laid out on the table.

XX was still sleeping - according to Mrs. Pendragon, she always sleeps until evening the day after working overtime.

Besides that.

"Why isn't Alter here either?"

Eiji looked around, somewhat puzzled not to see Black Saber's figure.

I specifically went to find Scáthach to get the homework, just so she could do it. How come I can't see her anywhere now?

"Who knows."

Mordred shrugged with complete indifference.

"She didn't come back last night. Who knows what she's doing now? Probably turned into a delinquent girl?"

Mrs. Pendragon's expression turned rather unpleasant upon hearing this.

"Don't speak nonsense, Mordred."

Noticing her mother's expression, Irisviel interrupted her thoughtless remark and spoke seriously.

"Maybe she's just fallen in love?"

If it's love, that would be somewhat better.

Mrs. Pendragon's expression softened slightly, a mix of relief and a hint of loss.

"Isn't that even worse?"

Lily blinked her eyes, looking completely innocent.

"Alter sister didn't come back all night? Although I don't really understand, do you stay out overnight when you're in love?"

"That's right!"

Irisviel suddenly understood.

"If you stay out overnight when you're in love, doesn't that mean... uh, I didn't say anything."

Mrs. Pendragon's face turned as dark as the bottom of a pot.

Seeing her expression, Irisviel quickly lowered her head and noisily focused on eating her meal.

Eiji rubbed his chin.

To be honest, falling in love seemed quite unlikely. Alter had that strong-willed and aloof personality—it would be hard for her to take a liking to anyone, and equally hard for anyone to be willing to be liked by her.

She's probably avoiding me, right?

Eiji guessed in his heart.

Mrs. Pendragon's expression remained very unpleasant, and the dining table was enveloped in a heavy, oppressive atmosphere. Irisviel and the others immediately didn't dare to speak anymore.

"Sigh."

After lunch, Madam carried a stack of plates and bowls into the kitchen, unable to hold back a sigh along the way.

Her face was full of bitterness, as if exhausted to the point of collapse.

Five daughters.

The eldest daughter, though she became a police officer and is long since an adult, has a flighty personality and doesn't consider marriage at all, as if she plans to live alone her entire life.

The third daughter appears well-behaved, but actually has a reclusive nature and the weakest bonds with the family. She's always running around outside, and now it's even progressed to not coming home at night.

The fourth and fifth daughters seem normal, but actually have an ambiguous relationship—unclear and indistinct between them—very likely to follow the same path she and her sister took.

Only the second daughter currently has no issues at all. Not only does she have no faults, she's even quite outstanding, completely following the trajectory she had envisioned without the slightest deviation.

Having moved to the Far East to settle down twenty years ago, raising five daughters alone—the hardships she endured are beyond what outsiders can imagine. And yet, four of the daughters have turned out wayward, embarking on various unsatisfactory paths.

Only the second daughter can barely provide her with a sliver of comfort.

Whenever she thinks of the hardships and sorrows involved, her eyes gradually grow red.

"Creak!"

Suddenly, the sound of the door opening rang out.

Mrs. Pendragon quickly wiped her eyes and pretended nothing was wrong, placing the plates one by one into the sink.

"Let me help too, Auntie!"

Eiji walked in, smiling as he spoke to Madam.

"Leave this kind of work to me. You should go rest with my daughters."

Mrs. Pendragon repeatedly waved her hands, instinctively wanting to push Eiji out, but her hands were covered in water droplets, leaving her stuck in place, neither able to extend them nor retreat.

"Anyway, I have nothing else to do."

Eiji squeezed in without listening to objections, picked up a cloth, and started washing the plates.

"I'm really sorry to trouble you every time."

Madam had no choice but to give up, speaking with full of apology.

In contrast, the daughters were much more carefree. After eating, they didn't even think to help her wash the dishes—they had truly been raised too luxuriously.

"Between us, why talk about trouble or no trouble!"

Eiji chuckled softly.

Effortlessly using words to bridge the distance.

"If only my daughters were half as sensible as you."

"They're still young. When they're older, they'll understand eventually."

"Aren't you even younger than them, yet more sensible? If only you were my child."
