Chapter 14 Child Missing, Ning Yao Worried
Chapter 14 Child Missing, Ning Yao Worried
Ning Yao had no idea what the little devils in her family were doing. She arrived at Wen Tingye's company as promised.
Today was the day she and Wen Tingye signed their official contract. Wen Tingye was very punctual this time, and the contract signing went smoothly.
Inside the meeting room, the notary public watched as the two signed their names, then bowed and smiled as he took the contract, carefully placing it into a folder and putting it away.
"To celebrate our successful collaboration, would you two do me the honor of having dinner together?"
"No need."
"Don't eat."
Wen Tingye and Ning Yao refused almost simultaneously.
Surprised by the speed of the response from both parties, the lawyer paused in his actions.
Ning Yao didn't want any further involvement in Wen Tingye's private life. She wanted to keep things strictly professional and naturally didn't want to attend private dinners.
Wen Tingye glanced at Ning Yao indifferently, a hint of inquiry flashing in his eyes.
Wen Tingye raised an eyebrow at Ning Yao and asked in a deep voice, "President Ning seems to be afraid of me?"
Upon hearing this, Ning Yao felt a strange ripple in her heart.
She always felt that Wen Tingye's tone was strange when he said this, as if he was teasing her.
She calmed herself down for a few seconds, subtly adjusted her expression, and looked at Wen Tingye with sincere eyes.
"Mr. Wen is overthinking it. I have other things to do this afternoon, so it's not convenient for me."
Wen Tingye smiled and said, "It's alright, we can meet tonight."
Wen Tingye, who had just refused to eat, suddenly changed his mind. Ning Yao didn't know if he was doing it on purpose. She saw him staring at her with a playful expression and dark eyes that looked like an abyss, which sent a chill down her spine.
Ning Yao slowly straightened her clothes, preparing to reply.
Wen Tingye's phone vibrated. He made a gesture, turned around, and answered the call.
Seeing that Wen Tingye was busy with his own things, Ning Yao got up to leave, but stopped abruptly after hearing Wen Tingye's words.
"Disappeared?" Wen Tingye frowned and turned to instruct his assistant, "Check the location of Ai Xiu and Bao Ying's watches."
Da Bao and Er Bao are missing?
Ning Yao stood rooted to the spot, rooted to the spot.
After hanging up the phone, Wen Tingye quickly walked out of the conference room.
Staring at Wen Tingye's departing figure, Ning Yao hesitated for a moment before following him.
PARKING LOT.
As soon as Wen Tingye got into the driver's seat, the passenger door was suddenly pulled open, and a slender figure slipped in, quickly sat down next to him, and expertly fastened his seatbelt with practiced ease.
Noticing Wen Tingye's cold gaze, Ning Yao calmly explained before he could ask any questions.
"We heard that Premier Wen's child is missing. As a partner, we cannot stand idly by."
Ning Yao knew her words sounded strange. Cooperation was a business matter, while the child was a private matter. Before Wen Tingye could ask, she added another sentence.
“I’ve met Ai Xiu and Bao Ying, and I like them very much. Besides, more people mean more help, right? Maybe I can be of assistance.”
Upon hearing this, Wen Tingye gave Ning Yao a deep look and drove off.
Throughout the journey, Ning Yao's fingers gripped the hem of her clothes tightly, and Wen Tingye noticed that she was even more nervous than he was.
Ning Yao turned her head to look out the window, preoccupied with worry about the child's safety, completely unaware of the man beside her scrutinizing her.
"President Ning is very interested in my child."
Ning Yao was surprised that Wen Tingye would ask such a question, and smiled upon hearing it, "I really like children."
The man didn't speak again, but Ning Yao could clearly sense that he didn't believe her at all.
She knew she was taking a dangerous step, but it concerned the lives of her two children, so she couldn't just stand by and do nothing.
After informing Wen Tingye that the child was missing, Lian Jiaorui waited at the Wen family villa.
Upon seeing Wen Tingye return, Lian Jiaorui rushed forward anxiously, tightly gripping Wen Tingye's large hand, looking every bit like a virtuous wife who had lost her child and wanted to seek help from her husband.
This was an opportunity to get close to Wen Tingye and gain his favor, so Lian Jiaorui naturally wouldn't let it pass.
She knew that Wen Tingye was a germaphobe and would never let a woman touch him. Even if a woman was sent to his bed, he would have her thrown out without hesitation.
Lian Jiaorui had been looking for opportunities to have further contact with Wen Tingye, and this situation presented an excellent opportunity for intimacy.
The scent of expensive perfume wafted over him, and Wen Tingye frowned in displeasure. Lian Jiaorui wisely let go of his hand; she was a sensible person, and also someone who understood the power of subtle influence, like boiling a frog in lukewarm water.
After letting go, Lian Jiaorui noticed that there was a woman following behind Wen Tingye's large body. After seeing the woman's face, a hint of resentment flashed in her eyes.
The other party turned out to be Ning Yao, the female companion that Wen Tingye had brought to the auction.
Wen Tingye rarely brought outsiders to his home, especially women. She only managed to get close to him by taking care of Wen Tingye's children under the pretext of using family connections to win the favor of Old Madam Wen.
Unexpectedly, he casually brought this woman back this time.
Lian Jiaorui forced herself to suppress her emotions, constantly reminding herself not to lose her composure in front of Wen Tingye.
She is Wen Tingye's fiancée, the future mistress of this villa. What is Ning Yao? She's just a guest.
Thinking of this, Lian Jiaorui adjusted her facial expression and said in a soft voice, "Miss Ning is here too? I'll go tell the maid to prepare something for you to drink. What would Miss Ning like to drink, tea, coffee, or juice?"
Ning Yao shook her head; she had no appetite for anything at this moment.
Her voice was filled with barely concealed anxiety: "I heard that President Wen's child is missing, so I came to help. May I ask when Miss Lian's child went missing?"
Faced with Ning Yao's question, Lian Jiaorui misinterpreted it as an interrogation, frowning unhappily. She glanced at Ning Yao but didn't answer her question. Instead, she moved closer to Wen Tingye and said affectionately:
"Tingye, I came to see Aixiu and Baoying today. I bought Aixiu's favorite robot, which is a limited edition of cutting-edge technology, and Baoying's favorite princess dress, which was designed by Vivi, a top Italian designer."
Lian Jiaorui did indeed buy a lot of expensive gifts; she had spent a fortune on them, and each item was ridiculously expensive.
Even with money, you might not be able to buy that robot. She had to pull countless strings to finally get her hands on one.
She wanted Wen Tingye to know how much effort she had put into the child, and to show that she truly loved the child.
Ning Yao's heart pounded with the faint echoes of Lian Jiaorui's bland words, which made no mention of the child's condition. Overwhelmed with unease, she coldly interrupted Lian Jiaorui.
"Miss Lian, get to the point."
Lian Jiaorui was interrupted by Ning Yao, and immediately became angry, crossing her arms and saying:
"I was talking to Tingye. Miss Ning, isn't it incredibly rude of you to interrupt someone like that?"
Lian Jiaorui was arrogant and haughty, clearly considering herself the mistress of the villa.
Ning Yao was furious at Lian Jiaorui's attitude; this woman wasn't genuinely concerned about the child at all, it was all hypocrisy. Even at a time like this, she was still being jealous, and the child was nowhere to be found!
Is Wen Tingye blind? What kind of taste does he have to fall for a woman like that!
Ning Yao turned to look at Wen Tingye, her eyes filled with reproach, as if Wen Tingye were a sinner for all time.
Wen Tingye glanced at Ning Yao and said to Lian Jiaorui in a deep voice, "I need to know when Ai Xiu and Bao Ying disappeared."
Lian Jiaorui realized that Wen Tingye was angry, so she quickly stopped scolding Ning Yao and looked at Wen Tingye with concern.
“At 2 p.m., I brought gifts to visit the two children, but they weren’t in the villa when I arrived. I found it strange, so I asked the maid. The maid said she hadn’t seen the two children all afternoon, so she searched the entire villa and confirmed that the children were missing. Then she called you right away.”
After hearing the explanation, Ning Yao became even more anxious. It was almost five o'clock, and Da Bao and Er Bao had been missing for a full three hours.
With so many people in the family, how can you not keep an eye on two children?
"Mr. Wen, it's been three hours already. The child is still young. Please call the police quickly."
Wen Tingye glanced at Ning Yao, about to say something, when his phone vibrated. He glanced at the caller ID and saw it was his assistant.
The watch's location was found, showing that the two children were in a flower shop in a busy downtown area.
When Wen Tingye saw the location, his brows furrowed even more.
