Chapter 193 Yingyue Pavilion
Chapter 193 Yingyue Pavilion
Fang Duobing watched the subtle exchange between Wu You and Nanfeng, his expression growing increasingly suspicious. Could this be another lie they were telling to deceive me?
"After the two brothers finished making their respective spears and shields, they had a weapons duel in front of their master."
For the sake of his future career path, Nanfeng gritted his teeth and spoke up.
Wu You: Well said, continue.
"After three days and three nights of fighting, both brothers lost."
"Why? If it's a duel, there must be winners and losers, right? There's also a process involved. How can a three-day, three-night fight be over in a single sentence?" Fang Duobing expressed his incomprehension.
"The claim that there were no three days and three nights is just a figure of speech. In the end, because the shield was broken and the spear was snapped, there were only losers and no winners in this battle; both sides suffered heavy losses."
"Logically speaking, this doesn't make sense," Fang Duobing scratched the back of his head.
"What logic is there? They're all weapons made of the same material, and the master made them compete with their own weapons. So, they can only lose and be utterly defeated."
Wu You gave Nanfeng an approving look. Unexpectedly, he still had a talent for making up stories; he told them quite well.
"Did those two fellow disciples not receive their master's ultimate techniques?"
"Your focus is really peculiar. Alright, Li Lianhua is waiting for us over there. Let's hurry over. As for which is stronger, the spear or the shield, why don't you go back and try it yourself?"
Wu You waved to Li Lianhua, who was waiting ahead, and hurried over.
"You're right, we'll see when we try it another day." Fang Duobing stopped worrying and walked towards Li Lianhua's direction.
"I've been looking for you. I've found the ancestral hall." Li Lianhua said gently, then led the group toward the ancestral hall.
“I asked Miss Bihuang, and there should be a Yingyue Pavilion near Guanri Pavilion. It’s just a pavilion, so why has Yulouchun not allowed anyone to approach it in recent years?”
"Over the years, Miss Bihuang has only met one guest, and that is Jin Mantang."
Soon the group arrived at a very secluded pavilion. The place was shrouded in mist, overgrown with weeds, and looked desolate, clearly neglected.
"The fog here is so thick, it's exactly the same as in the First-Class Tomb. If I'm not mistaken, the solution should be this tree."
The group walked along the path and, after about fifteen minutes, came to a stone gate.
Li Lianhua looked around and quickly found a way to open the stone door, her gaze fixed on the dead tree in front of it.
Li Lianhua slowly stepped forward and gently patted the withered tree. The long-dead tree crashed to the ground, and in the next instant, the stone door in front of them slowly opened.
"Li Lianhua, it has to be you. You've seen someone else do it once, and you can solve it yourself."
Wu You gave a thumbs-up in praise.
"That's right, we succeeded, let's go."
Too lazy to go back for torches, the group took out two tinderboxes they carried with them, lit them, and went inside.
Li Lianhua walked in front, holding one of the bags, while Wu You clung tightly to Li Lianhua's sleeve, walking second.
Fang Duobing, carrying a tinderbox, walked third, behind Nanfeng Hall, guarding against any unexpected situations that might arise.
The cave was dark, making it impossible to see anything clearly, except for the occasional dripping sound of water. There was only one path forward, so the four of them had no choice but to continue walking in the direction the cave led.
The ground was covered in dust, and no one could be seen walking by. Only a few messy footprints were left behind the crowd.
