Chapter 2 The Object of Everyone's Frenzy
Chapter 2 The Object of Everyone's Frenzy
The Annihilation Sect is located north of the Fengyuan Continent, and it would take at least a month to get there from Fuyun Mountain.
This journey kept Song Chaofeng very busy, as he searched everywhere for low-level demonic beasts to feed Tao Tao, and also inquired about how to get to the Yanhan Sect.
They finally encountered two other cultivators on their way to the Annihilation Sect, one of whom had a lower cultivation level than Song Chaofeng.
With the two of them leading the way, they quickly found the Scaled Rhinoceros Carriage leading to the Annihilation Cold Sect.
The Scaled Rhinoceros Carriage was specially designed to transport people to the Annihilation Cold Sect. The drivers were all cultivators, some of whom had quite high cultivation levels. Those with abundant wealth naturally rode in flying carriages, while people like Tao Tao, who could only scrape together three spirit stones every half day, could only ride in this ground-based carriage.
"Uncle, how much further?" Tao Tao asked, sitting in the carriage with her big, watery eyes blinking as she looked at the driver, her gaze melting hearts.
The driver clutched his chest and quickly took out a yellow sweet fruit from his storage bracelet and handed it to her. Tao Tao took it excitedly, "Thank you, Uncle!" and then ate it all in one go.
"Don't worry, we'll be at the Annihilation Frost Sect soon. Although my unicorn can't fly, it's still a level two demon beast, so it's naturally faster than you. Look, isn't that cloud in the northern sky? We'll be there when we get close to the center of the cloud," the coachman explained cheerfully.
Upon hearing this, Tao Tao involuntarily looked at the unicorn-scaled beast rushing ahead, biting his finger and asking in a low voice, "A level two demon beast, can I eat it?"
The unicorn shrewdly shuddered and mustered all its strength to run forward, afraid of being caught by the little guy.
Song Chaofeng gently covered her small face and whispered, "You can't eat this! Otherwise, how will we get to the Yanhan Sect? Once we get there, you can eat whatever you want!"
"Hmm." Tao Tao nodded, seemingly understanding but not quite.
"You've come to the right place at the Annihilation Cold Sect. The Annihilation Cold Sect only recruits disciples once every three hundred years, and the requirements are extremely strict. But there are also great benefits. Not only will you have the opportunity to cleanse your marrow in the Frost Pool, but you'll also have the chance to receive personal instruction from the Primordial True Dragon Ancestor. That's an honor that only newly recruited disciples can enjoy. Even just catching a glimpse of him from afar is incredibly beneficial..."
"Dragon? Can we eat it?" Tao Tao involuntarily began to swallow, and the coachman couldn't help but poke her forehead. "That's our ancestor, how dare we disrespect him? Don't talk nonsense."
After traveling for about ten days, they finally arrived near the Annihilation Sect. Along the way, they encountered several troubles, with several cultivators suddenly jumping out of the forest and trying to rob them.
Unexpectedly, Tao Tao transformed into a small beast and opened her mouth wide at them. No amount of magical artifacts could stop her. In the end, these people were chased away and even lost their storage bracelets, much to the delight of Song Chaofeng and his group.
It was definitely the right decision to bring this little one along!
Whenever something happens, I close the door and let Tao Tao out.
"Alright, this is Yanhan Mountain. The Yanhan Sect is built in the mountains. My beast-drawn carriage can't fly, so it can only take you this far." The driver waved cheerfully, and four heads simultaneously poked their heads out. When they looked up at the sky, their jaws dropped to the ground in astonishment.
Song Chaofeng asked in shock, "This mountain is almost reaching the sky, let alone expecting us to climb it ourselves?"
These low-level cultivators don't know how to fly or control artifacts, so isn't this making them give up on the idea of going up the mountain?
Hearing him question the driver, he was still unhappy. With a wave of his sleeve, he kicked the three of them off the carriage. Then he said softly to Tao Tao, "Little guy, there is naturally a shortcut to the mountain. I, an old man, have also come to learn from your master, but unfortunately I did not meet the requirements. Cough cough, let's not talk about that. If you want to go up, here is a talisman for you. Maybe you can try your luck."
The driver handed Tao Tao a blue talisman. After receiving the unfamiliar talisman, Tao Tao was stunned for a moment, then put it to his mouth and took a bite, but couldn't bite it!
"Oh dear, you can't eat this. Keep it safe. Just walk a hundred steps up and you'll reach the gate of the Annihilation Cold Sect." The coachman quickly stopped him, smiling as he rubbed Tao Tao's little head.
"Can't I eat it?" Tao Tao nodded as if she understood, and obediently said to the driver, "Thank you, Uncle, I understand."
The driver then helped Tao Tao off the carriage, flicked his sleeves, and drove away, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Tao Tao ran up to Song Chaofeng, who had fallen to the ground, and blinked her big eyes, saying, "Master, let's go."
Even though they had heard it no less than ten times, the other two cultivators still couldn't help but twitch their lips when they heard Tao Tao call Song Chaofeng "Master Brother," and their wariness of him intensified.
The owner of a transformed demon beast is definitely more than just a Qi Refining stage cultivator; he's at least at the Foundation Establishment stage, which is quite intimidating.
Of course, while they were afraid, they didn't forget to curry favor with him, hoping that he would take good care of them after joining the Yanhan Sect. Song Chaofeng was quite arrogant.
By the time Song Chaofeng came to his senses, Tao Tao had already dashed up the mountain in a flash, startling him so much that he quickly shouted, "Tao Tao, wait a minute, don't run around!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Tao Tao's body disappeared into a cloud of smoke.
"Oh no!" The three rushed over immediately, but Tao Tao was nowhere to be found.
After the smoke cleared, Tao Tao felt dizzy and lightheaded, and it took him a while to recover.
Just then, a clear and melodious female voice reached my ears.
"Wow, the first person to come to the sect is such a little one. He looks so cute."
"Who's talking?" Tao Tao asked in a childish voice as she glanced at him with her big eyes. Suddenly, a white shadow flashed beside her.
The pretty woman, dressed in a white robe with a moon-white jade pendant at her waist, exuded an air of elegance and refinement.
"What an adorable little guy! His face is so round and chubby, and his skin is so pink and tender. He's a bit short, but that makes him even cuter." The woman beamed and reached out to rub Tao Tao's face, squeezing her cute little face until it was distorted.
Tao Tao's face was full of refusal, and he kicked his little hands and legs wildly, "Let go of the nest!"
"Alright, Junior Sister Qu, don't scare the little one. She's from our Immortal Spirit Valley," a handsome man beside her said, stopping her.
The woman was greatly surprised upon hearing this. "Immortal Spirit Valley? You're saying this little one is a demon beast?"
“Junior Sister Qu’s cultivation is not high enough to see through it, but as a fellow demon beast, I know very well. Little one, come here and call me Senior Brother Yue.” The man beckoned to Tao Tao and smiled gently.
This made the woman's face darken immediately, and she blurted out, "Senior Brother Feng Yue is really good at talking. Although most of the demon beasts live in your Immortal Spirit Valley, it's not absolute. I think Little One can definitely come to our Green Bamboo Peak."
Those are transformed demonic beasts; who wouldn't be envious? Even their Immortal Spirit Valley currently only has a maximum of five transformed demonic beasts.
"Wrong, wrong, wrong, all wrong. In my opinion, the little guy has extraordinary talent and can be used to pursue the path of sword cultivation. Why not let him join our Little Huan Peak?"
A loud laugh echoed from the sky, and a dashing man rode in on a sword.
Just as he sheathed his sword and was about to strike up a conversation with Tao Tao, he heard a roar from not far away, "Bullshit! I think the little girl has a full forehead and is suitable for alchemy. She should come to my Hundred Medicine Hall."
In the blink of an eye, a beam of light shot out, transforming into an old man with the air of a Taoist immortal and white hair, stroking his beard as he slowly walked towards Tao Tao.
Upon seeing this, the others first bowed respectfully, then asked with a puzzled look, "Uncle-Master Wu, are you here personally to recruit disciples this time?"
"What, can't I come?" Uncle Wu replied abruptly with a wave of his sleeve.
Then everyone looked at Tao Tao standing in the center and asked in unison, "Little guy, who do you choose?"
Goodness, Tao Tao became the object of everyone's scramble as soon as he arrived, and the person in question didn't even know why.
Stared at like that, Tao Tao blinked and stared blankly for a while before asking softly, "Is there anything good to eat at your place?"
