Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off

Chapter 642: The Snow Wolf Clan

Chapter 642: The Snow Wolf Clan

Su Qinglan couldn’t help muttering under her breath. The words had barely left her mouth when another thought suddenly struck her. Her expression immediately changed. They hadn’t opened the main door yet.If the snow had already reached this height outside... Then wouldn’t all of it come rushing into the house the moment someone opened the door?

The image instantly appeared in her mind... A wave of snow poured through the entrance while everyone scrambled to escape.

Just imagining it was enough to make her imagination wild.

Nearby, the cubs watched her reaction with sparkling eyes. Earlier that morning, they had all experienced the exact same shock when they first looked outside.

Now, seeing their mother react exactly as they had, they couldn’t have looked more satisfied. Several tails wagged proudly.

Su Qinglan couldn’t help laughing. She reached out and gently patted a few furry little heads, earning happy grins and contented noises from the cubs.

Then her attention returned to the snow. Curious, she carefully stretched out a hand and touched the layer of snow resting on the window ledge. The cold immediately seeped into her fingertips. Her eyes brightened.

The snow felt soft. Soft enough to crumble apart at the slightest touch. It was icy cold, yet strangely pleasant to hold.

For a moment, she couldn’t resist poking it again. A look of pure amazement gradually spread across her face. It was her first time seeing snow in her life.

Back on Earth, she had only seen snow in pictures and videos. Even when she occasionally heard people talking about snowstorms online, she had never truly understood what it looked like in person.

Now she finally understood. It was beautiful and terrifying. At that moment, movement outside suddenly caught her attention.

Su Qinglan lifted her head and looked through the snowy window. Then she saw Han Jue.

A large snow wolf dashed effortlessly across the thick blanket of snow, his powerful paws barely sinking as he ran.

Or more accurately... He was carrying two very enthusiastic passengers.

The wolf twins were perched securely on Han Jue’s back, their tiny paws buried deep in his thick fur as they clung to him with all their strength. Every time the snow wolf accelerated, delighted squeals immediately rang out across the courtyard.

"Aaaaaooo."

"Awooooo."

Their laughter echoed through the snowy morning.

Han Jue continued running through the snow with remarkable ease. His silver-white fur blended almost perfectly into the winter landscape around him. Against the endless white world, he looked as though he had become part of the snow itself.

Compared to his usual cold and distant demeanor, he appeared far more relaxed now.

For once, there was no trace of the quiet reserve he normally carried. Watching him, Su Qinglan found herself smiling without even realizing it.

"It seems he really likes snow."

Standing nearby, Rong Ye nodded in agreement.

"After all, he is an Arctic wolf."

Su Qinglan continued observing Han Jue through the window. To be honest, she had never seen him like this before.

Only now did she suddenly notice something she had somehow overlooked all this time. She had never encountered another snow wolf. She didn’t know where Han Jue’s father came from.

She didn’t know where his people lived.

In fact, she had never even heard anyone mention snow wolves before. It was almost as though Han Jue had simply appeared out of nowhere without any clan.

The more she thought about it, the stranger it felt.

Just as she was about to continue down that line of thought, a gust of icy wind suddenly swept through the open window.

The cold hit her immediately.

Su Qinglan shivered. Her shoulders trembled slightly as the warmth surrounding her vanished in an instant.

Standing beside the window suddenly felt less like standing inside a house and more like standing inside an enormous ice cave.

She glanced toward the cubs crowded around the window and couldn’t help feeling a little envious.

Every single one of them possessed thick fur coats. Even when they rolled around in the snow outside, none of them seemed remotely bothered by the cold.

Meanwhile, she had only stood near the window for a few moments and was already freezing.

Hu Yan immediately noticed her reaction. He walked over, frowning slightly.

"Let’s close the window."

His gaze shifted toward the cubs.

"Your mother is cold."

The cubs immediately turned guilty. Several pairs of ears drooped. A few tails stopped wagging.

Seeing their reactions, Su Qinglan couldn’t help laughing. "Don’t worry." She waved her hand dismissively. "Let them enjoy it for a little longer."

As she spoke, she rubbed her cold hands together. "I’ll go wash my face with warm water first."

Hu Yan nodded. However, just as he was about to leave, another problem suddenly came to mind.

The gate. They still hadn’t opened the gate. And unfortunately, the kitchen wasn’t attached to the rooms. It was outside. If they wanted breakfast today, someone would need to make it through all that snow first.

Hu Yan’s gaze drifted toward the cubs.

The same little troublemakers who had nearly shaken the entire house apart with their excitement earlier were still gathered around the window.

He couldn’t help letting out a snort.

"Your mother woke up early because of all of you."

The cubs immediately looked away. Not a single one dared argue back. The guilty consciences were obvious.

Hu Yan looked back at Su Qinglan. "Lanlan, go back and stay warm in bed."

"I’ll boil water."

Su Qinglan nodded obediently. Meanwhile, Hu Yan walked toward the front door. The moment he pulled it open, everyone instinctively turned to look.

Then the entire room fell silent.

The doorway was completely blocked. A solid wall of snow stood directly outside. It barely looked like a door anymore. It looked like someone had built a snow fort against the entrance overnight.

Hu Yan stepped forward. The instant he moved outside, his legs sank deeply into the snow.

By the time he stopped, the snow had nearly reached his knees. The silence inside the room grew even heavier.

Su Qinglan slowly rubbed her forehead.

"We need to clear a path. Otherwise, how are we supposed to walk anywhere?"
