Chapter 517 Unfair Treatment
Chapter 517 Unfair Treatment
"Womanizer," Shao Mi rolled her eyes, catching onto the playful tone of my words.
"Hey, can't blame me for being irresistible," I retorted with a smirk, leaning casually against air.
"Idiot," she muttered, deciding to completely ignore me.
I shrugged, not bothered by her dismissal, and focused my view on the Hut.
"I think it's better for you to stay here. You might get angry again," I suggested, glancing at her.
I realized that introducing my soon to be wife to my ex wife right of the bat might not be the best idea.
"Why?" She asked, not knowing that we are here for Zayen.
"Just in case," I replied, keeping it simple. "Better safe than sorry."
Deep down, I knew that Zayen wouldn't mind meeting Shao Mi, but the reverse might not be true.
"Alright, I'll wait here," she sighed, reluctantly giving in.
With her staying behind, I walked toward the small hut.
The hut, simple and weathered, stood quietly.
I approached the wooden door, and knock on it.
After a moment, the door creaked open. Zayen stood there, immediately recognizing me.
Her eyes filled with sorrow, and she threw her arms around me, hugging me tightly.
Her shoulders trembled as she began to sob.
"Ji-hoon..." she whimpered, her voice choked with grief. Tears streamed down her face as she clung to me, deeply.
"What happened?" I asked, confused by her intense and sudden outburst.
Her sobbing only grew louder as she struggled to find the words.
"Our son, he's dead. She killed him!" she cried, the pain in her voice echoing the devastation in her heart.
Beside me, Shao Mi remained ready, her expression unreadable. I couldn't help but wonder what thoughts were running through her mind.
Did she understand the gravity of the situation?
Or was she simply waiting for my next move?
Opposite us, Zelly exuded an aura of power and authority, her presence alone was enough to make the other members feel confident.
As Zelly released her full aura, a wave of energy surge outward, enveloping the gathered Zol Clan members.
In response, each member followed suit, unleashing their own power in a synchronized display of strength.
The combined effort was formidable, rivaling my own power when it was restricted.
"I dare," I declared, a smirk playing on my lips as I tapped into another 10% of my power. Your next read is at My Virtual Library Empire
With a surge of energy, my aura intensified, causing the entire small world to tremble more violently than before.
The space around us began to crack and fracture under the strain of my overwhelming presence.
"A god!" she exclaimed finally realizing what they were dealing with.
"What brings a god like you to this remote corner of the universe?" Zelly's voice quivered slightly as she spoke, her bravado fading in the face of uncertainty.
Unlike the other Zol Clan members, Zelly retained memory of the vastness of the universe, fully aware of the existence of godlike beings.
"An ant like you has no right to ask such questions," I replied with contempt.
Raising my fingers, I summoned a concentrated ball of void energy, a black orb crackling with dark lightning.
"Not good! Stop him!" Zelly exclaimed, sensing the impending danger.
She ordered her clan members to attack, but before they could react, a sudden explosion rocked the area.
It was Zod who had chosen to sacrifice himself, detonating his body to take out some of the other Zol Clan members.
I hadn't intended for him to intervene, but his loyalty to me led him to make the ultimate sacrifice. It was his way of showing his devotion, even at the cost of his own life.
"Why are you doing this? Our clan has been here, faithfully doing our job, instructed by the gods to keep the seal. Why are you trying to kill us?" Zelly roared in anger, feeling the weight of what she perceived as unfair treatment.
