A Villain's Way of Taming Heroines

Chapter 564 Pure - II

Chapter 564 Pure - II

Seraphina gulped down a large mouthful of water and forced the coarse grain flatbread into her stomach, emitting a satisfied belch.

"Boss Fenrir..."

The men with rough skin and simple clothes watched the girl pat her belly contentedly and asked eagerly, "Are you really okay in this state?"

"...Hmm?" Seraphina's eyebrows furrowed slightly. "Are you doubting my strength?"

"Not exactly, it's just that... it seems like you never seem to be full," one of the group, seemingly considering Seraphina their leader, muttered.

Seraphina scratched her head. "It's not that I'm never full, I just get hungry quickly. These things don't keep me full for long, and I get hungry fast when I start fighting."

What did she eat while following Ansel?

The finest extraordinary chef's cuisine, made from the highest quality ingredients. Even if you ignored the taste, the energy and nutrients contained in those dishes could practically stuff a low-tier extraordinary being to death.

Now, with just these coarse grain flatbreads, she was merely filling her stomach.

Despite her words, Seraphina didn't show any complaints. She said loudly, "It's not a big deal. Just take care of... who was it?"

"Black Crocodile Tyrend."

"Oh! That black croco!" The girl suddenly remembered and confidently patted her chest. "Don't worry, taking care of that croco is no problem. Just wait for me to come back."

Without minding the hesitant looks of the others, she swaggered out.

Outside, there was another large crowd, including men, women, and children. Upon seeing Seraphina, they all started calling out, "Boss Fenrir," "Boss Fenrir."

Seraphina's fame might not have spread throughout the empire yet, but Ansel had suggested she use an alias while traveling. Thus, the not-so-clever wolf girl had Ansel pick a name for her, resulting in "Fenrir."

Initially, Seraphina found the name awkward, but after hearing it called numerous times, she grew to like it.

The respect and admiration in people's eyes when they called out to her... made Seraphina want to wag her tail high.

She absolutely loved being looked at this way! Of course, all the things she did along the way weren't just because she liked the attention.

If it were the former Seraphina, she would have been infuriated by such distrust—why should her good intentions be doubted?

But now, the wolf girl no longer got angry over such trivial matters. She enjoyed being admired and respected, but ultimately... it wasn't for the sake of such reactions that she stood against those villains.

Walking on the filthy, foul-smelling streets, Seraphina looked up—the buildings seemed to be stacked on the walls, crowded and shabby. The crisscrossing streets and pathways intertwined like a labyrinth, shrouding this place in perpetual shadow. She had come from a higher place; the scene of Dispute Fortress she saw from the teleportation point seemed like a different world compared to the one here.

But Seraphina was no longer surprised, as she had seen too many similar "two worlds" on her journey.

The first time she killed a city lord who oppressed and abused civilians with two punches, broke through the barrier of the two worlds, her fist dripping with blood, she stood on the corpse of the villain, looking at the world through the shattered wall, bewildered.

At her feet were the jewels the city lord had thrown down while begging for mercy, while beyond the wall lay the impoverished and dilapidated lower town.

And then, in a moment of sudden clarity, Seraphina Marlowe awoke as if from a deep slumber.

— Ansel had protected her too well, or rather... Ansel had done too good a job.

For so long, everything she saw was freedom and beauty, prosperity and peace. These things had made Seraphina forget her once unquenchable fury, forget why she had bared her fangs at this world. Continue reading at empire

This world was terrible, truly terrible—a horde of madmen, lunatics, and bastards riding roughshod over helpless, pitiable civilians, wantonly controlling and toying with their lives. It made her blood boil with rage.

Someone had to change it.

Seraphina's reason for following Ansel was never just because she liked Ansel, loved Ansel, or didn't want to leave Ansel.

It was because she firmly believed that Ansel had the ability to change this world, believed that Ansel hoped for a better world.

So now, Seraphina was immensely grateful for the choice she made—the choice to leave Ansel and pursue new possibilities.

On this path, she might not only gain power but also rediscover the things she once chased.

The wolf that emerged from the wild snowfields had never changed. In her heart, she still upheld the most pure and simple notions of good and evil—

The wicked should die, and the good should find peace. That is all.
