Chapter 204 The Gaze of the Void
Chapter 204 The Gaze of the Void
The avatar of the evil god did not speak, but quickly activated the divine power contained within the avatar. Then, an imperceptible ray of light shone on Agred. Agred's dragon scales suddenly dimmed for a moment, but returned to normal in the blink of an eye.
Agred analyzed the method and said, "Petrifying rays? So you're 'Gatanotoa'. I never expected Cthulhu's eldest son to appear in a place like this."
Gatanothoa said to himself, "Ignoring divine power skills? The body of an ancient god is even more terrifying than the legends say. We cannot fight against it. Retreat, retreat."
As Gatanothoya was about to leave, Agred was not about to agree. So he opened his mouth wide and spewed out a breath of dragon fire, burning Gatanothoya's avatar to ashes. Then he swallowed all the divine power in the avatar.
Agreed pondered for a moment, then chuckled wickedly, “The evil gods of the void, huh? Sounds like a good hunting target. How come I didn’t think of that? These lunatics are exactly the kind of people I can slaughter at will without any scruples. Odin and Zeus don’t care about the lives of those Great Old Ones. Hehehe, my future is getting brighter and brighter.”
Then Agreed spread his wings and flew over the city of the grey dwarves, shouting, "Your king is dead. Now you have only one choice: submit to me! Otherwise, you will bring flames of destruction upon yourselves."
The gray dwarves wisely knelt down in unison. After all, life hadn't been easy for them before. Their worship of the evil god Cthulhu forced them to sacrifice hundreds of their own people every year as offerings to the god, which had long caused resentment among many gray dwarves. So, for them, being alive was all that mattered; they didn't care who their master was. Besides, the dragon before them might bring them a better life.
This is the tragedy of the weak; they cannot resist and can only silently accept it.
In the distant void, Gatanothoa slowly opened his eyes. His true form awoke from its slumber. This terrifying evil god, without eyes and covered in mouths, muttered to himself, "Old God, fear, must, call for help, if necessary, I must, break the seal, and ask my father for help."
Agreed was unaware that he now had a kill warrant placed on his head by the Great Old Ones in the Void.
However, he didn't need to consider these issues yet. With the addition of the Grey Dwarves, Agred quickly began to fully arm his troops.
The forging techniques of the Grey Dwarves were inherited from the Dwarf race, so there was no need to worry about the quality of the weapons. Moreover, high-grade ores were easier to find in the underground world than in the surface world. In the following days, the Kobolds and Grey Dwarves worked together to create a batch of top-notch alloy weapons in a very short time.
Argreed also specially commissioned the creation of a thick spiked club and two enormous battle axes, personally enchanting these weapons. The battle axes were intended as a reward for the Minotaur, while the spiked club was a weapon Argreed prepared for Yorick, the gnoll, who was fond of blunt weapons. Yorick had recently made great contributions to the development of the Dragonfang tribe, so Argreed decided to reward him with this. As for Warwick, he didn't need any weapons because his bloodline talent was already there; apart from divine artifacts, other weapons were of little significance to him.
Now, under Agred's preparations, the southern border has gradually formed a good situation for sustainable development. Given time, Agred believes that he will be able to cultivate an invincible army to prioritize the unification of the entire southern part of this continent, and then launch a northern expedition to obtain ownership of one-third of the planet's land.
But before Agred's ideals could be realized, his enemies began to stir. On the very day that Agred had just finished enchanting the weapons he had prepared for his men, Yorick rushed to the huge stone palace that Agred had built for himself.
Yorick slid in and knelt in the center of the hall, reporting loudly: "Master, urgent report from the sentries: the giant eagles of the Oasis Forest have recently begun to frequently move within our territory. We can confirm that they are spying on us."
Agreed slowly emerged from behind, sat on the throne he had built for himself, and then asked, "It seems our neighbors are in a hurry. Did you intercept those giant eagles?"
Yorick replied, "The giant eagles have all been captured by the chimeras and manticores and are being held in our tents awaiting their master's judgment."
Agreed praised, "Very well, this is yours." With that, a magnificent mace made of pure alloy was thrown in front of Yorick.
Yorick respectfully picked up the spiked club and casually swung it twice. A sharp energy blade instantly appeared and shattered a nearby giant stone pillar. Yorick immediately knelt down in fear and kowtowed, begging Agreed for forgiveness.
Agreed waved his hand dismissively, saying, "It's alright. It's normal to be unfamiliar with the functions of a new weapon at first. Come to me, and I'll instill the usage instructions for this weapon into your brain. This weapon was personally enchanted by me and has dozens of special functions. You'll need time to get used to it." As he spoke, Agreed extended his palm, gesturing for Yorick to come closer. Yorick obediently lay down in front of Agreed's palm, and then a vast amount of knowledge was poured into Yorick's mind, allowing him to instantly learn how to use the new weapon.
After finishing all this, Agreed instructed, "Let's go, it's time we discussed our strategic direction towards our neighbors."
So Agreed brought Yorick to the Dragon Tooth tribe in the southern borderlands. The Dragon Tooth tribe was now a completely different place, and its prosperity was comparable to that of human towns of the same era. Moreover, the very forward-thinking structures that Agreed designed would only make the city's advantages in future development more and more obvious.
Agreed used a shrinking spell to reduce his body to the size of a young dragon. He then entered the council hall, which was enveloped by an encrypted magic circle. Minotaur, Tiga, Pugin, Otto, Warwick, Yorick, and others were all waiting there. Upon seeing Agreed, they all respectfully knelt down to pay their respects.
Agreed gestured for them to stand up, then said, “Gentlemen, our neighbors in the Oasis Forest have been making a lot of moves lately. Their constant probing of us shows they’re starting to get anxious. But green dragons are a cunning and greedy race, so they won’t attack unless they have complete information. Therefore… we need to lure them out.”
Yorick instantly understood and asked, "Master, you want us to release the giant eagles and send them false information, is that right?"
Agreed shook his head and said noncommittally, "Yes and no, it's about passing on a message, not a false one. You don't need to worry about that, I'll handle it myself. What you need to share with me is another problem."
