My daily life with the Shiina sisters

Chapter 327 Eating Together

Chapter 327 Eating Together

Tanaka silently observed the passengers in the back seat through the rearview mirror inside the car.

The girl was nestled in her seat, her head slightly turned as she gazed blankly at the snowy scenery outside the car window. She possessed an elegant demeanor and dignified bearing, her jet-black hair tied up with a dark red ribbon.

Perhaps because she was still lost in thought, the usually aloof and stern girl unexpectedly revealed a hint of friendliness.

Tanaka is very tight-lipped, but people are bound to have wild thoughts. He had once considered that the person by the young master's side might be her.

But the past is the past, and Tanaka now only hopes that today's events will not affect his young master.

Although the girl in the car is probably nice too, if he were to vote, he would still vote for Mahiru-san.

The vehicle drove along the snow-covered road until it came to a slow stop in front of a wooden villa.

After Tanaka got out of the car, he opened the car door for Kaguya Shinomiya. The cold wind blew snowflakes past Kaguya Shinomiya's eyes.

The villa's entrance was empty and desolate, and Kaguya Shinomiya felt uneasy until Tanaka took the suitcase down and she came back to her senses.

"Young Master is inside." With that, Tanaka helped Kaguya Shinomiya carry her luggage to the front door, and gestured for her to enter as he opened the door.

Kaguya Shinomiya nodded, thanked him, and carried her suitcase into the entryway.

After driving the car back to the garage, Tanaka took out his phone from the driver's seat, hesitated for a moment, and then put it back in his pocket.

He got out of the car, locked the door, and decided to sleep soundly in his room all day.

"Kaguya's here?"

"Sorry to bother you."

As the door closed, Imagawa Kaede's voice came from the open kitchen.

The scarf was hung on the coat rack, and the box was placed next to the shoe cabinet. On the tiled floor, besides a pair of black leather shoes, there were two pairs of cotton slippers, one light pink and one light blue, both printed with blue kitten patterns.

Kaguya Shinomiya couldn't help but glance at him a few times. Her feet were on the wooden floor, and although she was wearing cotton socks, they were still a little cold. As she stepped out of the entrance hall, she saw Kaede Imagawa wearing an apron and busy in the kitchen.

Upon seeing this, Kaguya Shinomiya's previously restless heart calmed down.

"Have you had lunch?" Imagawa asked as he poured melted and heated butter over the steak.

"Not yet," Kaguya Shinomiya replied truthfully.

"Then wait a moment." With that, Imagawa Kaede fried two more eggs in the empty space in the pan.

"Is there anything I can help you with?" Kaguya Shinomiya approached the kitchen counter.

"Then please help me put the rice into a plate."

Opening the cupboard, Kaguya Shinomiya looked at the plates and bowls displayed inside. The plates and bowls had gray-blue patterns, the same color as the slippers Imagawa Kaede was wearing, while the rest were light blue and pale pink.

So Kaguya Shinomiya took out a gray-blue plate and a very ordinary white plate to serve the rice.

Soon the pork chops were cooked. Imagawa Kaede divided them into two parts. First, he put some stir-fried vegetables on the rice, sprinkled some seaweed flakes on top, then added the fried egg and pork chops, sprinkled some pepper, and finally poured on the meat sauce.

After placing the final product on the table, Imagawa Kaede said, "I didn't make soup, but I brewed some tea."

"It's alright, this is fine," Kaguya Shinomiya said.

"Why are you barefoot?" Looking at Kaguya Shinomiya sitting on the sofa with her feet on the carpet, Kaede Imagawa turned around and went to the shoe cabinet in the entryway to take out a pair of slippers and placed them in front of Kaguya Shinomiya.

Kaguya Shinomiya took off her cotton socks before putting her feet into her slippers.

"Thank you," said Kaguya Shinomiya as she put away her socks and stood up from the sofa.

“I originally thought you were the type who didn’t wear nail polish,” Imagawa Kaede, who had been observing the whole thing, suddenly said.

"Hayasaka recommended that I give it a try."

The two washed their hands and sat down during their conversation.

She seemed genuinely hungry, and after simply saying "I'm starting to eat," she began to eat.

Pick up a piece of pork chop cut into strips, take a bite, and you'll experience a crispy crust, rich juices bursting from both sides, the aroma of beef, and the smooth texture of pork.

Her taste buds were stimulated on multiple levels, prompting her to praise the dish.

"It was delicious."

A rare, genuine smile appeared on Kaguya Shinomiya's face, like a snow lotus blooming on a high mountain.

"That's an exaggeration, it probably isn't that delicious, is it?"

Imagawa Kaede was drawn to this unexpected "neighborly" smile, but that's what he said.

In his impression, Kaguya Shinomiya was not this type of person. Perhaps it was because of their different environments, but the contrast brought about by this sense of everyday life made him seem to understand Kaguya Shinomiya a little better.

Kaguya Shinomiya seemed to realize that she had just lost her composure, and covered her mouth with a smile: "It was indeed delicious, although it might be because I was a little hungry."

"Hmm, as long as it's not bad." Imagawa Kaede didn't want to delve deeper into such mundane topics.

As the party currently in control, and given his current circumstances, he needs to have a more precise grasp of this distance.

"After you finish eating, rest for a while. I've had a guest room prepared for you."

"As for Niseko, let's go check on it this afternoon."

Kaguya Shinomiya naturally went along with the schedule proposed by Kaede Imagawa.

"Aren't Mahiru and Dragon Ball here today?" Kaguya Shinomiya asked knowingly.

"They said they wanted to have a good time in Hokkaido and then left me here."

"Didn't Hayasaka come with you?"

“Hayasaka is enjoying her vacation too,” Kaguya Shinomiya added. “Looks like we’ve all been left behind.”

"Yes, we are both in the same boat."

After Imagawa Kaede said that, an eerie silence fell over the dinner table.

Bai Juyi's poems are quite famous in Japan, but the second half of the line, "Why must we have known each other before we meet?" makes Kaguya Shinomiya think too much.

Kaede Imagawa took out his phone, took a picture of the food on the table, and sent it to the small group chat he was in with Mahiru Shiina and Momo Ryuju.

However, the photo seems to have been intentionally designed to expose the person on the other side.

The two then chatted about some trivial matters before returning to their room to rest.

The plan was to depart at 2 PM, as the villa was some distance from the office.
