Chapter 194 Papa
Chapter 194 Papa
"Bang bang bang!"
The sound of violent door banging suddenly rang out on the second floor of the Guardian's dormitory. The noise was so loud that many people stopped to watch. Many doors were quietly opened and some heads popped out to watch.
"Who is it? I'm going to rest. We can talk tomorrow if you have anything." A lazy voice came from inside the house.
"Lucas, open the door. I have something to ask you." Wolfe's voice carried a dangerous atmosphere of impending storm. Instructor Hurst and Teacher Rebecca were standing next to him. Catherine had a stern face and stood at the end of the group with Lilith.
"Instructor Wolfe? Wait, damn it! Damn it..."
Behind the thin door panel, there was a thud and clang of something falling to the ground, followed by a dull dragging sound.
Catherine looked at the changing light and shadow coming through the door, and her expression became even colder.
"Lucas, I'll say this for the last time, open the door! This is an order." Everyone heard the noise inside. Teacher Wolfe's face became even darker, and he slammed the door again.
"He may be destroying evidence." Catherine looked at the people blocking the way ahead and said impatiently, "They are taking too long!"
Wolfe was silent for a moment, as if he was unwilling to believe that his student was such a person. Hurst, who was standing by, took a look at him, walked up, kicked the door open and rushed in.
Lilith followed the crowd and moved forward. When she entered the door, she was greeted by a humid air, which made her frown subconsciously - is the boys' dormitory so damp?
She looked at the ground and saw a row of clear watermarks, as if the floor had just been mopped. The marks extended all the way to the half-open bathroom.
Hurst sneered, followed the water trail, strode open the narrow door of the bathroom and shouted, "Hey, kid, you——"
The sound stopped abruptly inside.
When Wolfe heard no more noise, he opened the door and walked in. "What's going on—"
It was quiet inside again.
Lilith was as anxious as a wild civet in a melon field. She wanted to stick her head out, but she told herself that it was a men's bathroom. If she saw something she shouldn't see, she would get stye! Besides, there wasn't room for more people in that small bathroom, right? If there was anything, everyone couldn't speak up!
She walked forward and wanted to shout.
Teacher Wolfe, who had his back to them, suddenly turned around and held the door frame with his arm, with an indescribable strange look on his face.
"Lilith, please go find Simon. If you can't find him, go find Colin first."
Catherine frowned unhappily, "Mr. Wolfe, as the parties involved, I think we have the right—"
"You come with us, Miss Catherine, and help." Who would have thought that as soon as she spoke, Wolfe took her with him.
There was some surprise in Catherine's eyes, and she was even more curious about the scene behind the door. But she remained silent, then took Lilith's hand and walked out.
After the dormitory door was closed, Wolfe turned his head, looked at Hurst solemnly, and looked at the figure huddled in the corner of the bathroom.
Lucas hastily put on his shirt, buttoning almost all of it wrong. His signature short blue hair has now grown to his waist, but below his waist...
The huge blue fish tail dragged on the ground. Without the moisture of water, it was somewhat dry and dull, like a pool of dead sea water...
……
Lucas felt like everything was spinning out of control.
He shouldn't have been soft-hearted and cleaned up all that trouble for Lilith. Now a group of teachers are leading the way in smashing the door, but what the hell is this place!
He glanced at the black bookshelves behind him; they were all empty, like a high wall of silent sculptures, silently examining him.
He turned his head again and looked carefully at the black-haired man sitting in front of the pool. He was beside a huge white marble pool, stirring the water with his hands over and over again. Even though his neat shirt was already mostly wet, he still insisted on calling softly, "Golatia, wake up."
I think his name is Simon? That's what Mr. Wolfe called him. Lucas thought silently.
He had been in this strange space with him for half a day, but this guy hadn't said a word to him. He already felt a little awkward.
More serious than the embarrassment was that he was so thirsty that the scales on his body were already standing up... Every time Simon slapped the water, he couldn't help swallowing his saliva.
What time is it? He looked up at the shaking black lake above his head, and could only vaguely see a corner of light coming through. Was it the moon, or the light of the Stargazing Fort? Who knows!
"Teacher Simon, I..." Lucas wanted to say that if there was nothing else he would leave first, but when he thought about the fact that he didn't even have legs and had to crawl to move two steps, he immediately shut his mouth.
The stunningly handsome man in black finally turned around, his dark green eyes swept over his indigo fishtail, with a mixture of curiosity and emotion, "I'm sorry, are you feeling unwell?"
As he spoke, Lucas felt something empty underneath him and he was actually flying into the air. The next second, he landed in the huge pool in front of Simon with a splash.
"Cough, cough, cough!"
Lucas struggled to raise his head, clinging to the edge of the pool and breathing deeply. It seemed that the sea dweller learned how to swim without any instruction. He never remembered having learned to swim before, but as soon as he entered the water, he instinctively swung his tail and pushed himself to the surface of the water, but his posture was not very graceful.
"No gills?" Simon sat by the pool, pinched Lucas's chin with one hand, gently moved it to the side, and observed carefully. "It doesn't seem to be a normal atavism. What did you do, kid?"
He even wanted to pry open Lucas' mouth to check his teeth, but the boy dodged in fear, "What do you mean by atavism? I don't know!"
"Splash—" The sound of water breaking came from behind, and Simon loosened the shackles on Lucas' chin upon hearing the sound.
Lucas also turned his head, but was shocked!
A beautiful woman stood behind him, her black hair clinging to her body like seaweed. She was very tall, and Lucas was clinging to the edge of the pool, and had to look up to meet her curious green eyes. Under the water, he could vaguely see the thick pink and blue fish tail, and the school of silver fish chasing her.
Lucas suddenly remembered what Lilith had told him about the mermaid at the bottom of the lake. This was... the principal of Goletia?! The one who always sang at night?
"Golatia, don't avoid taking medicine..." Simon said in a gentle voice like coaxing a child, and put his hand on Lucas' shoulder, "Look, I brought you a new friend."
There are still mermaids in the world, that’s great... Mother is not alone, she still has her own tribe.
The black-haired mermaid turned a deaf ear to Simon's words. Instead, she moved closer and stared at Lucas, who dared not move, for a long time.
Lucas was thinking about the meaning of Simon's words, but his hand suddenly felt heavy. He looked down and met a pair of dead eyes.
It was a dead fish, staring at him with its mouth open, and a lot of pills were stuffed into the slit. The fishy and salty smell rushed into Lucas's nose, and he should have felt nauseous, but somehow, his saliva was secreted crazily.
"Eat something, Gloria." Simon's voice sounded.
Lucas understood, swallowed his saliva and slowly raised his hand, "Principal, please——"
Goletia floated up and down in the water, sometimes diving into the water with only her eyes exposed. After a while, she finally took the fish from his hand, opened her mouth, and took a bite of the fish as easily as chewing pudding.
Ouch! She has so many teeth! Lucas stepped back in fear when he saw the row of sharp and dense teeth, and bumped into the pool wall.
Goletia ate very quickly, tearing the fish meat clean in a few bites. She happily held the fish bones and showed them off to the two people in front of her. When Lucas thought she was mute, she suddenly looked at Lucas and spoke -
"I ate it all, Papa."
“…No, no, no, no, that’s not what I taught you!!!” Lucas explained in horror, shaking his head frantically at Simon.
Simon didn't react, but nodded in understanding, "It doesn't matter, she doesn't recognize people very well nowadays."
Lucas finally breathed a sigh of relief, but suddenly he felt a tearing pain in his body and his face turned pale.
The drug was taking effect and he was almost changing back to normal.
Goletia seemed to feel his pain, and suddenly opened her mouth and sang an unfamiliar ballad. Simon saw Lucas' eyes suddenly lose focus, and he lost consciousness and slowly slid into the water. He hurriedly grabbed his shoulders and pulled him out, just in time to see his fish tail split open and slowly turned into a human leg...
